I cannot get adobe reader to install on my computer.

It keeps saying that it cannot find files or update the registry.

WTF??

WTF?????????????????????

I've tried everything, but nothing works.  The fact that I know basically nothing about computers isn't helping.

Please help!

I have windows XP, BTW

Thanks

are you downloading it directly from the adobe site, or from one of those download sites?  I have the best luck going directly from the vendor, I had problems a while back trying to get the new AVG software....going direct from their site it downloaded perfectly.

This will be of no help whatsoever, but I cannot resist any opportunity to say that Adobe reader SUCKS!

try starting another profile and doing it again to see if your profile is corrupt.  You can also try and use the system restore function and roll things back a few days to when it worked.

Do this.

You can go to www.portableapps.com and get Sumatra that will go on and run from a USB drive.  If you like the way it works you can DL the regular application and install it to the HD.
