Anyone watching fox at about 8:55PM?

Is this the new season, or a 24 movie that they've been talking about doing?

The season 7 preview I saw last year looked COMPLETELY different...

Isn't this the season where Joel Surnow has washed his hands of 24 and Jack Bauer has become an environmentalist crusader?

That would be the ultimate jumping of the shark.

No...it involves him going to Africa to help rescue a friend's kids I believe.  Actually looks pretty badass.

The teaser came on right after Fox's new X-Files ripoff.

This is a prequal to set up the theme for this seasons storyline. Looks like 24 meets Blood Diamond to me.

Yes I'll watch it.

It's gonna be a 2-hour movie aired at the end of November. Season 7 starts in January.

The new president is a woman, and the new bad guys are African warlords.

There was a scene where Jack is pressed up against a fence with a bunch of refugee looking kids and he's begging to be let in... "c'mon, they're just kids..." Looked like a scene right out of Tears of The Sun to me.

I didn't get how the African warlords were a threat to the US. It looked more to me like Jack was on a humanitarian mission.

Yep, they jumped the shark.

Even if Jack Bauer teams up with Chuck Norris and Charles Bronson, he can't save Africa.

They jumped the shark when they detonated a snuke in the snizz on American soil in the second episode of the season and nobody really seemed to be too concerned with it afterwards...

They said at the end that it is a two hour special show.

Oh, brother.  I've dumped this show once before for a season and a half.  Sound lilke I may be going down that road again.

I think Jack's in Africa off the grid, bridging the gap between S6 and S7.  He gets attached at the hip to these kids because local warlords are kidnapping them and making them fight in regional conflicts.

Better than I thought it would be. It sets the scene for the new season in January well.
Looks like some of now ex-president Curly Bill's cronies were arming the local warlords off the books. Now Jack has a cause for revenge for his ex-SF buddie who is killed by the warlord.  Also liked Jack's line to the UN dude.....forget the helment, it just makes a good target.

He does need to do something about those three round Glcok mags he was carrying. He does a reload after three shots twice and at least one was at slidelock.

Yeah I know......It's a TV show not a training film.

I did too although it wasn't the pace I had psyched myself up for.  This just whets my palette for S7 though.  The teaser... .
