After watching generation kill, and not being able to figure it out. Could someone shed some light on what they mean by "Interrogative"?

thanks

"Having or conveying the force of a question."

Asking a question,questioning.

Interrogatories are the written questions propounded on party opponents in a civil suit. I'm not sure if the word was used in that conext though.

You first.  What's the quote and context?

Over the radio they would use it seemingly randomly throughout the entire series. Sometimes saying it multiple times in the same statement/transmission.

Interrogative - it's a question (similar to interrogate)

"Do you still deny you beat your wife?"

On the radio the word "interrogative" is stated before actually asking a question so the person transmitting does not have to worry about tone of voice to actually convey that he is, indeed, asking a question.

Sure. Basically it is mil-speak for what is?

For instance, "interrogative your intentions," is just another way of saying "what are your intentions?"

+1 - think of a noisy radio transmission where you can barely make out the words - you do not want to have your message depend on the tone changes of your voice.

"Weapons free!" vs. "Weapons free?"

interrogative, why does gun powder smell so damn good?

That's a negative on your interrogative.

Interrogative?
Declarative.
Imperative.
Exclamatory!

In the military it's the polite way of saying "WTF, Over"

In the Navy it is used as a proword (procedural word) in signalling with flag hoist signals and sometimes verbal signalling..

there are a variety of Pennants with defined meaning.  The Speed pennant is one .  If I hoist the Speed Pennant over the  1 and 5 flags it means "My speed is 15.  If I am on a ship and want to know the speed of another ship, I can hoist Interrogative over Speed translating to "What is your speed?

Interrogative is used as the word because it is hard to mistake it for other words.

(as an aside the Church pennant hoisted above the Interrogative pennant translates as "Jesus Christ, What the hell?")

-That building to the North.

-Interrogative: Which building?

-The one with the blue dome on it.

I have never heard it used before, until GK, it wasn't even in the book.

I'd never heard it either, but figured out what it meant pretty quick.  Of course when I was in we trained to fight people where comsec was important.  The amount of talking on the radio they did in GK scared me.
