I can stand the guy behind this, he also did "American Beauty" where america sucks and everyne but the two gay guys is evil. he's a gay guy who says he has issues from some childhood sex abuse (kind of a strange thing to blat out in a radio interview). He implied (I thought) that parts of it was talking about prejudice against homosexuals. In the woods when she was fighting to save the vampire, there was someone else looking on, a woman in green as I recall. I was assuming that she's also a vampire and used some sort of vampire-telekenisis-power to tighten the chain around bad guy's neck. Looks like its going to be one hell of a good show. |
Yep, Sookie has something else going on other than her ability to read minds. Where a more traditional show would have explained all of that early on to keep the viewer from having to think, this show is going to be different. I'm really looking forward to how this show plays out. |

It's alright thus far. Seeing Sookie get the shit kicked out of her at the end kinda made me cringe. Do you think she will have to become a vampire to survive?, that's kinda the impression I got from the preview to the next episode. Either way, it's a good way to kill an hour before Entourage comes on. |
Yup; there's going to be plenty going on that's not that obvious at the start. What is obvious is that Sookie is HAWT. |

Seems like when she decides to focus she tunes other stuff out. She may have been too focused looking for the vampire to "hear" what was going on around her. Her ability reminds me of a book I read where mind readers all slowly go insane because over time they lose the ability to focus and the constant babble drives them bonkers. |
I love Anna Paquin's eyes, I'd hit it like the angry hand of God. The other waitress is pretty damn hot too.

First two episodes were okay. +1 the grandma has some sort of 'past' experience with the vampires. Not a vampire herself, but maybe she fed off of one (like Sookie) and maybe it gave her enhanced perceptions that were passed down to Sookie. Apparently there is a vampire banging all the single women in town, both of the brother's conquests had bite marks on them already. Hot sexy waitress (the young one, not the redheaded battleaxe) wears a bra while having sex with the brother ? WTF, I'll bang ya but I won't let ya see me titties ? = FAIL. And Sookie looks hot, but we all know she isn't gonna do any nude scenes. And the chicklet teeth need to be fixed. |
Well, if that's what moves you, that's fine. Different strokes for different folks. I've just seen *much* better porn and *much* better vampire movies. Mediocre porn mixed into a mediocre vampire story doesn't bacon create. Shane |
