When you go hunting, do you most often go alone, or with a friend, family member, or group?

For those that both go alone and with friends, which type of game do you most often go after alone, and what type of game do you go after with friends?

Poll coming.

I do a little of both.  When hunting alone, I usually go after big game and spooky animals like bobcat.  When I go with family and friends, it's usually more like a well-armed hike, with the secondary goal of bagging small game.

Whitetail deer with family.  My family has a couple pieces of land 70 acres and 30 acres here in Michigan.  For as long as I can remember some of the family has gathered each opening day.

I've been hunting with friends this year on the bow hunt, but this is my first bow hunt.  I quite often hunt solo for birds and coyotes, and even rifle hunting for deer and elk.

I will likely spend much of the remaining bow hunt solo, I like it a lot.

I go with friends/family, Its like other things more is good, I also like going alone.  I like being alone when in my stand.  you must be very quiet, you don't want Critters to hear you

I don't lay in wait, hoping something comes along so I can ambush it.
I actually hunt. I hunt alone. One person is more stealth than 2 or 3.

I like to have at least one other person when deer hunting. Was out alone once and killed a buck that was tangled up with another deer. No way in hell I'd have gotten both of them in the truck alone. Both were at least 220 pound 10 pointers. All other hunting I will go alone if I cannot get any of my lazy friends to go.

I used to deer hunt with others, but it always seemed like they got cold and wanted to leave early or something, as I've been known to sit 12 hours in a stand. I've found that there's less scent, noise, and general disturbance when I hunt solo.

My old hunting buddy of 106 died this last March.
I'll probably hunt by myself this year.
Unless I find a kid to take for his first deer.

Here's my old friend at 101 with his first buck. I'll always remember him when I deer hunt.

I like to have a friend and then split up when we get to the hunting spot. That way you have the advantage of minimum movement and scent, but also have a drag partner and someone nearby if something bad happens.

We use those Motorola radios and turn them on if we hear the other guy shoot during deer season to see what's up. The rest of the time we just check in at a certain time to decide if we are ready to go or want to keep hunting longer.

Sometimes we stay together like turkey hunting or predator calling so one guy is calling and one guy is shooting.

Always hunt with friends. We hunt deer, turkey, and the occasional bobcat. I am a firm believe in safety in numbers few years ago buddy was coming down a tree in a climber, and gave way long story short, he broke his back, but is fine now minus the obvious pain everytime it rains. Myself was hunting out of an old tobacco farm over a field, went to leave lower my gun to my buddy climbing down and freak accident, the rung on the wodden ladder broke lose and I fell about 12 feet. Luckly the ground was damp so it absorbed the fall. Needless to say both accidents there was atleast someone there to help out.

Both.

Dove and ducks are social.  The more the merrier.

A crowd in a deer stand = no deer.

[#39]
Both.

I have been deer hunting in the same club (with a lot of the same members) on the same property for the last 15+ years.

I also have a few pieces of land close to home I can go hunt in the evenings during deer season and I usually do that alone.

Hunting (the overall activity) like a lot of things is even better when enjoyed with boon companions or at least what passes for boon companions. Sitting around a camp fire drinking and telling lies is more fun as an interactive experience.

I hunt alone.  I put an obscene amount of effort into my deer hunting, most of the guys I know like to do things different.  We all just hunt our own ways and swap stories(lies) later.

I usually hunt for everything by myself, unless my wife wants to tag along.

Hogs i go with buds. I like kicking em out of the brush and shooting them with ARs on the move it's fun and a Good reflexive fire drill Having more people equals a better chance of kicking up multiple targets. Plus its fun reflecting on the war like hunts over some cold beer and campfire.

I hunted turkey and pheasant with my father and sometimes his friends. Great way to spend some guy time with the old man and pick up some wisdom. Turkey hunting we usually split up once we get to the hot spot.

Deer i like being alone.
