Def Leppard.

I loved them, up until Hysteria. High & Dry is a fantastic album of solid rock songs, but by Pyromania they were showing a nasty habit of becoming a glassy sounding pop band.

I wouldnt go as far as to say they are the GREATEST (We will leave that to Iron Maiden) but they are amazing. The only thing I didnt like is that since Steve Clark died, They have Phill Collen in the lead and Vivian Campbell in the back seat to Phil. I am sorry but Vivian is NEVER to be overshadowed by ANYONE.

I got to see Def Leppard last year and they put on a GREAT show.

Whoa now, Leppard is ok but don't get all Bravo Channel on us.

Journey was only used for a brief period in history to play when you're on a date, to get your girlfriend's pants off. It's like Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill.....men don't drink that shit, it's just a tool of epic ghey proportions that if used responsibly can mean a blowjob from a Journey fan with tits.

So, if you're a Journey fan, that means someone, somewhere, wants a blowjob from you and you can be enticed by some Open Arms & a wine cooler.

No worries! Journey is taken in much moderation. I ran across their greatest hits cd tonight and decided to listen to a few songs.

Pretty hard to believe Vivian is playing second fiddle considering his guitar work in Holy Diver, Last in Line, Rainbow in the Dark, etc.

Consider his role in the band. He's an old friend of theirs, stepped in to replace Steve. Probably not kosher to be invited in, and take over the theatrics from the guy who wrote much of the leads, dontcha think?

I respect that he's a working guitarist, and fitting in the band instead of trying to stand out. More guitarists should be able to do that.

I hear ya, I saw documentary on Def Leppard last year when they brought out the new album, Vivian was laughing about his current position in the band.  He said Def Leppard definitely wasn't heavy metal but he has been good friends of the band way back into the 80's and it was good fun work.  Too many guitar players couldn't swallow their ego to do what Vivian Campbell did, it is pretty refreshing.

Always liked Vivian Campbell's work, a very unique sound.

I like'm.

Many nights spent drinking beer on the river bank or in someone's pasture to a soundtrack of Def Leppard back in the day.

Can't fault them for not being good guys either.  They waited a long time for Rick Allen to work his way back.

I've always liked their music and thought they were all damned good musicians, and sticking by Rick Allen the way they did made me think of them as damned good people, too. If I could meet them in person, that's what I'd like to tell 'em.
