Mine have all been used and I've never had a problem, even after tens of thousands of rounds.

If they are in good shape at a good price, why not?

j/k.  Not sure of the question.  Are you asking which one to get? (in that case I say the Hipower.  If you decide against, let me know where it is so I can buy it)  Or are you asking if buying a used gun is ok?  yes it is.

Sure. I've got a few. No regrets.

Got both, both were used.

I'd rather buy used than new, to tell you the truth.

"Used" in the handgun world generally means "I bought it at premium and now am selling it at a good deal" unless they fucked it up somehow.

If they look to be in good shape you are GTG.

If you are really worried, usually just replacing all the springs will fix most issues and give you piece of mind.

I'd like to know what's going on with used handguns, but other than that, why not?  As long as you don't get a dog...

Go new if you need the waranty, used if you know what you're doing

I am buying both I think. The Hipower has pachmayer rubber grips and target sights. $595 seems kinda high to me, it was made in the late 70's, made in Belgium.

I will ONLY buy used handguns and rifles.  I don't see a point in spending money on a new gun if a used gun does the same job for less money.  Then again, after buying a house, I'm not buying much of anything anymore.

Oh shit, i just realized, I bought a new Arsenal AK in 223 a couple weeks ago, but it was only $500!

I'm definitely not opposed to buying used,
provided I'm getting a good deal and I'm happy with condition.

Obviously the price is the issue.
In other words, I won't save myself 10% for something in 80% condition.

And theres a good example of my point...
I'm sure you can find one used for $600-$800 if you look

Most people really don't shoot their guns very much...

"Used" doesn't really imply that it is.
Besides, you've got a chance to look it over for wear first, right?

As long as it hasn't been abused and it's at a good price, do it!

The vast majority of firearms are rarely, if ever, shot.  Buying used, assuming good care, only makes sense.

S&W published a few years back that they believe fully 80% of ALL their handguns are never fired.

Most of my current collection were used when I bought them to include my everyday ccw and duty weapon.

I know of three different people who have bought handguns in the past year and have never fired them, even though they are their self-defense weapons.

The last Smith I stumbled onto (Indy 1500 Gun Show) was a Model 14, made in the third quarter of 1959, and gave every appearance of being unfired.  I was very pleased.

Oh, $275 OTD made me even happier, as I had been looking for one with a 6" bbl for a couple of years for my wife, and I was prepared to pay nearly any price.

Used guns are the best!  Better than half of mine were made long before I was born.

Wtf? Did they take a poll of gun show horse traders or my local auctioneers?

Pro-gun and Anti-gun organizations agree that most American gun owners have only 1 gun, rarely (if ever) shot, and stored improperly.  It isn't a stretch, really.

Absolutely--but please don't tell anyone.  I want to be the only one snatching them up.

Oh, you forgot one thing--they make my wife very happy.  A happy wife is a quiet wife, and a quiet wife is . . . a good thing!

The used ones were less expensive.

Most handguns are either used really hard (IPSC, LEO carry, etc.) or used very little (left in sock drawer "just in case").  Try to get guns from the latter category.
