My 80something mother in law got a knee replacement three and a half weeks ago. She can walk some with assistance now. How long does it take to walk at least semi normal? Thanks |
| It can vary of course. Semi- normal as in no walker or other assistance? Her overall health, weight and other medical conditions will play into it at her age. I would say to give it 2-3 months. Not a doc, but a family member has had both done and another had one. |
Yah.anytime the surgeon bangs on an open wound with a hammer is gruesome. As for time... my dad was in his mid-to-late 60s at the time, His first knee replacement was such a positive experience that he was riding a bicycle 32 days after his 2nd knee replacement. Not real far, and not regularly, but he was able to go up & down the street a couple of times. |
