How I did it I don't know, but I put a small crack in the outer screen of my LG VX8350 cellphone (thru Verizon).  It's bad enough that I can't see what it says (I have no idea who is calling me)  I checked with Verizon wireless, and basically it's not their fault (which is true) so they don't have to fix it.  I'm just finishing 1 year on a 2 year contract and I don't want to get another phone through them.  My thoughts were to buy an LG VX8350 on Ebay and try and switch the sim card over.  My question is:  how hard is it to switch the sim card and is that all I need to do?  Do I have to make sure the phone is "unlocked"?

should just be able to swap the sim card.  it only has to be unlocked if it is not programed for your network.  so long as it's a verizon version, you'll be fine

I don't think verizon uses sim cards. At least every verizon phone I've had never had one.

You have to switch the phones through the store, no sim card. If you have an older phone, just get them to reactivate it. You may have to argue with them to keep them from charging a fee for it.

I think you are SOL.  Verizon is a CDMA network.  SIM cards are for GSM networks (T-Mobile, AT&T).  You may have to send it back to the manufacturer for repairs.

Good Luck

No sim cards with Verizon.  IM sent.
