Seems like there is a spate of this going on around here..

A week or so ago it was just a lowly civilian.. with a Glock fotay... he was not a profeshnul so he got arrested instead of getting the "firearms refresher course on the spot"

Profeshnul action script..

and notice they call him a "gun-shop owner"  Hmmm I know I would not be able to run a gun shop out of my residence.. business zoning ordinances, occupational licensing and all those little PITA things.

I think they meant gun shop to be like work shop. Where he worked on his guns.

Exactly.  When I drop the hammer on a gun in my house -- dry-firing, trigger-testing, whatever -- it is pointed at the designated "safe wall," a Kevlar vest insert with a target taped to it, against a cinder block wall.  If I ever get a Bang when I expected a Click, there better be a hole in the center of that target.  You don't do your dry practice on the TV, the potted plant, the dog, the closet door, or anything that won't catch a bullet.  Otherwise, you risk hitting a water pipe, or your child three rooms away.  He was damn lucky all he hit was a water pipe.

Myers said he thought he inserted an empty magazine into the rifle, but he instead picked a magazine containing 10 rounds of .223 caliber ammunition.

Only a true "dick-head" cannot tell the difference between an empty magazine and a magazine with ten rounds in it. Look at it!! Feel the difference in the weight!!

Hell his AR probably looked like this one.

I did the same thing a year ago with a 9mm carbine

No jail time for me...neither did my buddy who put a round through half of his apartment with an XD9...

so...  aparantly, if you put a loaded magazine in a weapon and pull the trigger...  it will fire.   The things you learn.

Man accidentally fires gun through wall of his apartment, police say

A man accidentally fired a gun through the wall of his apartment and into his neighbor's bedroom Saturday morning, police said.

The man was headed to a gun show, thought his weapon wasn't loaded, and pulled the trigger, according to a statement from Lucy Crockett, spokeswoman for the Wilmington Police Department.

The incident occurred at 7:04 a.m. at 4124 Breezewood Drive, according to police. The bullet blasted sheetrock dust all over a woman who was asleep in the apartment next door.

The round stopped in a door jam across the bedroom from where it entered through a wall, according to the statement.

Police took the gun for safe-keeping, though no one has been charged in the incident.
