Iran does not have a delivery system capable of reaching the United States. Even if they did, and they successfully initiated a first strike on the US, they would cease to exist as a nation shortly thereafter. Make no mistake. Our retaliatory strike capabilities remain. Of course, if NObama is elected, that could all change. |

Iran is very much a rational actor on the international scene. As much as some would like to demonize them as some kind of raving-lunatic-terrorist-suicide-bomber-rogue nation they don't have a death wish. The ruling classes there enjoy their wealth and privilege as much as anyone and tossing it away on something as dumb as firing off an EMP is not going to happen. Now it may very well be that they have an axe to grind with Israel. Or it could be that they need an enemy like Israel to demonize in much the same manner that we demonize Iran. No matter, Israel is very capable of handling it's own defense. While Iran has much to gain from antagonizing Israel they have very little profit motive in actually fighting a war with them. It's all so much smoke a fury designed to placate hard-liners at home and to position themselves in any diplomatic discussions regarding their "energy" policy. J. |

A rational actor on the international scene. publicly states it's intention to destroy another state becasue of it's religion (Israel)? I think not. This regime would be dangerous given the right tools. I would be wise to make sure they do not get them. |
