I think it's pretty clear that 10mm is the best cartridge ever created.

Which pistol would you choose to display its awesomeness?

[#1]
Glock 20C
7/31/2008 10:34:45 AM EDT
[#2]
I would not buy one.

I've had both G20 and S&W 1076.  G20's the way to go.
7/31/2008 10:35:08 AM EDT
[#4]
G20 if you are going to carry it in the field.

Colt for all other lawful purposes.

Oh, and be prepared to get one of those Vltor/Bren Ten things if they end up not being vaporware.

All hail 10mm!
7/31/2008 10:36:03 AM EDT

Glock 20.

EAA Witness. Good magazine capacity and it's not a Glock.

Plus the Glock has an unsupported chamber, so you can't really use the nuclear loads in one safely.

Most people that really like 10 mm also like to load their own ammo and experiment a little.  That rules the Glock out.

Probably a 1006 since I have a 1911 in 10mm already, but I'd seriously drool over a Delta Elite.

I'll second the Witness.

Shot my new Witness for the first time this past weekend. It was nice with less recoil than I was expecting. It did fail to feed the the last round in the 3 mags. I am looking at a Kimber for my next one.

Any Glock, they are hell-bent strong. They are engineered to handle full power 10mm with aplomb.

The only problem with 10mm is that the cases are expensive, and not too available as range brass for reloading.

For 10mm shooters, you have to reload otherwise you will go bankrupt.

Unfortunately, you will have to buy both the Glock 20 and Glock 29 to fully enjoy this cartridge.

G29 is a great carry gun for OWB in the cooler months.  Suprisingly easy to control even with the heavy duty rounds.

Recently discoverd ~ 1000 rounds of 10mm CCI I had forgot I bought ~ 8 years ago!

Red, they came with the gun. It was not a big problem to me, because this gun is just for fun. I would take any advice on better mags.

I like Glocks but don't know about the lack of chamber support in the 10mm, especially with "real" 10mm. It may never be a problem, but it just doesn't sound like a real good idea to me. That said, aftermarket barrels for Glocks are inexpensive.

Not a big fan of the Witness as out-of-the-box reliability with them is hit-or-miss.

The 1006 would probably be fine and a 1911 may or may not be.

Wait for the Fortis?

G29 is what I CHL with.
The G20 is too big hence the 29'

A Fusion 10mm 1911 will be my next pistol

EAA Witness - best ergonomics, which matters with a stout cartridge like the 10mm.

EAA, and Glock are good for off the shelf 10mm.  If you step up to full power 10mm, there seems to be a lot of reports of EAA's cracking and problems with case support in Glocks.

There are several barrels for the Glocks with better case support.

One option not mentioned here is the S&W 610, N framed revolver.  You don't have to worry about case support, they are very accurate, reliable.

The Witness Compact is really appealing to me.  I've shot a Witness in .45, and loved it.  I also used to own a Baby Eagle Compact in 9mm, and loved it as well.

The Glock 20 is quite a bit bigger, but it is one of the best feeling pistols I've ever shot.

How common is the cracking with the Witness?  Is it something I should be concerned with if I use full-power ammunition on a regular basis?

If you want THIS

Get one of THESE

It'll handle loads I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting in my G20.

ETA- 610-2.

It has a fabulous trigger. Everyone who shoots it says something along the lines of, "Holy SHIT!"

They fixed the cracking with the Witness years ago, same for the Delta Elite.

In response to the Witness magazines question, the red followers are the new ones. The black ones are the Clinton-era mags and are supposed to be horribly unreliable. I don't know why yours won't feed the last round sometimes.

After the CZ-75B in 9mm I'm saving up for, I'm getting a Witness in 10mm. The store near my college not only has 10mm ammo in stock, but it's stil $15 a box.

Compared to .45?

You are giving up more like 1.27mm and gaining a whole of lot of velocity. 10mm is a better caliber than .45.

Had a Glock 29 and a Glock 30...Identical except for the calibers...I would shoot them one after the other...sometimes doublefisting if I was alone and outdoors.....The Glock 29 always made me smile when I pulled the trigger...especially with DT ammo that little thing was a cannon.....but when it came time to inspect the targets the Glock 30 always came up the winner...not sure why but I was always more accurate with the 30. G29 got sold...G30 rides the hip
