When do they start?

How do you think McCain will do?  Will he fumble or come out strong?  He sure sounded like an idiot during an interview outside his German food joint the other day, in the sense you knew what he was trying to say but he just didn't say it right...

I hope he comes in and can lay the smack down on Obama, he's older, more experienced, a combat vet, a POW, a great father (has like 5-6 kids, a couple adopted ones too), children in the military.  He's old so can relate in some way to the health care issue/crisis and may have a better calming effect on the older voters.

I do know that many older Democrats will NOT vote for Obama because of his race,  they also would not vote Hillary had she one because she is a woman.  My friends grandfather and his buddies (Ford Union workers, many are vets Korea/WWII and D voters all their lives) are voting Republican.  I think a lot of older people, who we never hear their voice, will follow along the same lines.

Obama is a perfect speaker when in a scripted environment.  The debates will be telling for him.  Because he has such a good public speaking rep, anything less than a flawless peformance will be seen as a weakness.  McCain is the opposite, as long as he doesn't do a GWB "It's hard work", he will be seen as competent.

It will be interesting to see Obama have to answer something other than the softball questions that have been lobbed at him.
