just put these in a little bit ago and tonight we got a big rain. These go in place of your down spouts. I got em from rainchains.com. I like em!

They won't be there very long...
the slope of my landscape but you can also direct it into any container and have that direct water away as well. Ive also seen people have them drop into a fake river bed as well. |

Except they don't do the job of downspouts properly, which is to move excess water away from your home and basement. Good luck with those. |
Well here in WI we got thieves stealing the copper wiring off railroad tracks, power poles, anywhere they can get it, hell, the local scrap yard just had some guys try to turn in a cut down aluminum power pole...

It's everywhere man. Meth heads steal copper as it's easily available and scrap sells for a pretty penny. Meth is a nationwide problem, not just isolated "bad areas." |

Honestly, never even heard of it till now. Seeing your house, I completely understand why you went that route though. Doesn't look like it'll be a problem for your basement, but maybe some sort of stone on an angle would be a good idea... help carry the water away. |

Meth started in rural areas. If you try to cook meth in the city it will be no time before the cops get complaints. The OP thinks his rural area is immune from copper theives. ETA: You have a beautiful house. ETA: It takes a village.
