Why should the presidential nominee have the right to choose the Vice President nominee? TheVP is not really an assistant to the President per se, but should qualify to be the next President if necessary. Also, the VP has his own duties and agenda. Why should one and only one person be allowed to make the decision on who it will be. The same process should be used to get a VP Candidate, instead of one personal choice, the choice is made by 50 million or so, people. Then we can select a VP candidate who will also be a person who has the support of millions of people, not just one. A situation where the 2 most important people in our system, "keep each other honest"hinking.gif |
