Wow.  Let me say I'm impressed with the CMP - again!  I sent in my order on July 3 for a service grade IBM carbine.  I received my carbine at 10:03AM today, July 16.  I've had great luck with the CMP and it seems to continue today!

Anyone else received anything from the CMP lately?  Pics are required if you got em!

I feel bad for you man.  It really sucks that you're locked out of the CMP.    If you're ever in Kansas you can shoot my CMP guns

This is my first M1, I just got it through CMP last month.  It's a Springfield Armory field grade.  My uncle ordered 2 of the 240 round cans of Greek M2 ammo and gave me one, we were supposed to go shooting tonight but I can't make it because we're in the process of moving.

Beautiful  You'll have fun with it.  I love my Garand.  Speaking of that...I need to get a photo of big brother and little brother together

Looks good.  Who made the barrel and is the stock a replacement with FAT stamp?

Thanks!

Don't feel too bad for me, though.  I do have CMP guns, I've just had to pay the "gun show markup" from people who seem to buy CMP guns for the purpose of reselling .  On the one hand that pisses me off, because that is not the purpose of the CMP, but on the other hand I am obviously very happy about it, because it's allowed me to get my hands on two Danish returns, which is of course very cool to me.

I did sneak out and shoot it a couple days after it got here.    My uncle is the guy that got me into M1's, he ordered his around 1990 or so and has never fired it.  We looked up the serial number and it was made around Feb 1944 at Springfield Armory.  It was still in the original CMP shipping box when he showed it to me last year.  Still in the grease/plastic wrap, etc.  He said it cost him (I think) $280 back then and he was surprised to hear what they cost now (he's not a real serious gun guy, he was in the Army at the time, and I think his buddys were getting them and he just kind of joined in with them).  So when I started talking about ordering mine, he decided he's going to shoot it.  He looked like he got thinking when I told him they had some carbines for sale now, I won't be surprised if he gets one.

Yes the stock has a FAT stamp and no, the barrel seems original.  Stock is marked FAT 77

Wow.  I chose the service grade Saginaw in June.  This thing shoots as well as any carbine I've ever had.

Mine was like $597 delivered.  I highly doubt if you sent your order in now that you'd make the cut for the service grade Carbines as they only have 1800 all said.

You lucky bastard.  My order went to open today for an IBM SG.  I'm just hoping for an IBM barrel and a walnut stock, let alone any other correct parts.
