So damn hot that two lighters in the girlfriends truck exploded. Opened the door to find red and blue colored shrapnel.

Tell her to get her windows tinted and use a sun shade in the front window. Seriously, I do not understand why so many people who live in a hot climate like Texas, or Arizona or other places, do not do those things. On top of that, I see so many cars sitting out in the hot sun with none of the above, AND the windows all rolled up. I guess people want a mobile sweat lodge or something! |

Idling when cold is probably the worst thing to do to your engine, plus the AC doesn't work that well when there's no real airflow over the condenser, and the compressor running at such low speeds. Remote starter for the waste! |
True dat. I love when the news anchors look at the weatherman, and say, "when will we get some relief from this heat?" It's called November, you blow dried twit. It's freakin' July, and your complaining that it's hot? Give me a break. |

She wasn't impressed with your exploding Bic lighters.  I tell you what though, the inside of a car in the Texas sun is great for drying out cell phones and pagers that have fallen in the pool (or dived in with me, in my pocket). I have salvaged couple of electronic devices that way. The heat dries them out real good. |
Works real well for melting the cosmoline out of Turkish Mausers too. |

We have had some very oddly cool days, in among the usual hot days. Some kind of weird weather reversal going on..probably just the odd cold front. Strange year so far, lots of big hail, frequent tornadoes and very high winds. So far our high was 104 I believe, otherwise mostly in the 90s. |
Yeah it has been an odd year. Worst winter that I can ever remember but the summer has been awesome and dry. |
