OK, our next presidential election is a few months off. I've decided to re-read a few books, and remind myself a little bit why I believe some of the things I believe, why I think the way I think, and to prepare my mind somewhat for the gigantic piles of utterly unbelievable horseshit from hell that both parties will be slinging around in ever-increasing piles until the first week of November. Note that this is not new reading, this is re-reading only. My current list consists of: Atlas Shrugged(reading it now) Unintended Consequences(finished last week) The Fountainhead The Scarlet Letter 1984 Animal Farm Brave New World The Screwtape Letters And finally, Essays on Political Economy, by the finest man France has produced to date, Frederic Bastiat. I do this, to a greater or lesser extent depending on my time, every 4 years, just before presidential election. Does anyone else do anyhting similar? |
