Looking for first hand reports of racist actions against you or people you know first hand. It seems like I am always hearing about people being "kept down" or treated differently but whenever asked to explain they have nothing to back it up.

I am not looking for "I applied to school/job and didn't get in" looking for more of blatant in your face instances that effect your life. Thanks.

ConservitiveBlKFMALE or however she spells it had a good example of a guy she was dating, seems he expected her to swing from the roof like a monkey during the nookie.

You might want to go where there are black people to ask this.

There are people who actually conduct research on this kind of stuff.

One of the things they do is send our resumes for job applications, and the resumes are identical, except one has a typically "black" name, and one doesn't.  The results always show large difference in who gets called for an interview - and it aint the blacks.

Another type of study is similar and relates to mortgages.  Researchers will send white couples in to apply for a mortgage, and will send black couples (with identical credit reports, etc.) in - and often the black couple will be quoted a higher rate for the exact same type of loan.

I know you were asking for specific examples, but you're not going to get a good sample simple because we don't have an enromous (or representative) number of black members on ar15.com.

But the kind of people who study this stuff do find a quite substantial amount of institutional racism still in the U.S.

Other research shows that about 10% of people in the U.S. do not believe that black people should be free to own property, or to live where they want.

I'm not black but one of my oldest and best friends is, I asked him about this and he said he never experienced anything overt, despite growing up and going to school in TX. I know plenty of Asians who have been subject to overt instances of racism though, they just don't raise a fuss about it so you never hear about it.

My favorite is jury sentencing.  If a black man and a white man are charged with the same crime, with the same background, same history, etc - the black man is many times more likely to get a harsher sentence, including the death penalty.

And a buddy in HS MANY years ago filled out his race as BLACK on many college applications/scholarship apps (he was fish belly white,Irish, through and through).

Got TONS of scholarship offers from all kinds of colleges.Said the looks on their faces was priceless when he showed up and he hada VERY Irish name.

One interesting collary might be to ask all the white people you know if they REALLY would have preferred to have been born black.

While some people might gripe about Affirmative Action and other preceived "benefits" to being black, I don't think there are a lot of white people in the U.S. who would really, honestly, prefer to be black if they had a choice.

I'd like to see the names on these reports.  A normal sounding name belonging to a black person such as "Bill Jones" would arguably fare better than if they put a put down a absurd sounding name that sounds normal in certain sections of black society such as "LeSawyne Mohammed Blowmenija"

Go to any community college on the first day of class and just watch how dumbfounded the teachers are when attempting to pronounce the names.

Ya, he's never had trouble with the cops, then again, he doesn't look a like a blinged out thug either.

So much of that victimization shit is self inflicted, and the moonbats perpetuate that victim mentality with their self righteousness.  Correlation is not causation.

It doesn't matter what race you are, if you play up to the stereotypes, and bitch about the negative repercussions, you'll get no sympathy from me.

You know, I am a white guy, but grew up during my teenage years in a mostly black neighborhood. I was never bothered and never heard any black poeple talking about racisim. That's because Asians are smarter and show up early to work. So they get hired by someone else pretty quick. When's the last time you met an unemployed Asian? I figure it's a superior cultural trait that Asians who are unemployed are automatically labeled as LOSERS!
