Me throwing Anvils at a Scottish Highland Game.  165lbs, a 9 ft 2 in throw to win the field.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=brmiMmyABpw

Previous attempt, also would have been a winning throw at 8 ft 7.5 in.

NOT a rickroll.

Gives a whole new meaning to "tossing one off".

God love the Scots. Why would I not have been surprised to hear this conversation a few hundred years ago:

The English are coming... what'll we do?

Angus, you and the boys hit 'em with big swords.

Colin and I will stay here... if they get too close to the keep, I guess we'll throw anvils at 'em or something.

They thought about throwing the haggis, but A) it's a biohazard and B) it's what's for dinner.

How heavy is that anvil?

I would have had a Wile E. Coyote moment.

That BTW is my Leatherneck Kilt, the official Marine Corps tartan.

Just be glad he didn't don a white shirt, mary janes and put his hair in pigtails to go for the complete "Schoolgirl fetish" look.

I'd have flashbacks to the news coverage of one of the "pride parades" years ago.

That's why the kilt is knee length.  Or maybe I'm just exaggerating.

Good toss. Stay true to your heritage.

165 lbs.  Once you get the 'handle' on it you can pick it pretty easy.  The toughest part is just working your hands to the narrow waist of the anvil once it's over your head.

This should take you to a page of Tx events, some already done some yet to come.

You can check the forums there for information on how to get involved.  (same username there)

Be warned, their page loads slowly.
