I am having more computer problems than I have ever had, getting ready to order a Mac. Can anyone tell me what this problem is now, tonight when I got on the computer the darn screen is screwy. The left side border is straight as an arrow but the right is curved ie, like this l ( The top and bottom border are straight also, but all the writing is nice and crisp on the edges and the closer you get to the center of the screen it is blurry. I have tried the setting on the front of the monitor but all it does is change the angle of the screen or make it worse, I never had this many problems with my old IMac Jellybean. |

My hard drive crashed a couple of weeks ago and I am running on a borrowed one, this one is eight years old and is due for a replacement. I just can't decide which to get. If it is the video card then a different monitor will do the same thing, right? Nothing has been changed on the desk for a year or so and nothing new electronic. |
It's not the video card. Trust me on this. Do you have a fan running right next to your monitor? Someone else in this thread already had this idea and that's a real good way to start. Also, real good brand new HDD are less than $100. |
That's a tired cliche. From the May Popular Mechanics:

Did they pick the most expensive Gateway or something? i just priced out two comparable systems, one on www.apple.com, the other at www.dell.com. Dells are usually more expensive than Gateways. The Dell wasn't on any type of sale or special. Apple Macbook 2.1ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 13" screen 1 gb of ram 120gb hard drive OS 10 other basic features - $1099 adding one more gb of ram makes the price $1199, and it's still one gb less than the Dell Dell Inspiron 1420 2.0 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 14.1" screen 3gb of ram 250gb hard drive MS Vista Premium other basic features (same things the Apple has) - $949 I am not saying that Macs suck or I wouldn't use one, but they are more expensive than PCs. |
