Is there a whole list of names that the e-mail was sent to? Could it simply be a misspelling of the intended e-mail recipient? ETA: About the only thing I can think of is, some spammers used to do things like this to verify e-mail accounts before selling a list to someone. But that was back in the early 90s. |
Wait a minute. First you said it was addressed FROM Gary Wynn, now it is TO Gary Winn. First it was a Yahoo account, now it is a gmail account (that is Google). |
WTF, if it was addressed TO Gary Wynn, did it have your e-mail addy? (is you e-mail addy close to the one on it?). |
You could report it to your IP provider (most have some method of reporting spam and junk mail). If they screwed up in sending it to you, they would at least be alerted to the fact. Can't really see how this could be a virus with no attachment and no script activity--I am assuming you did not see any script activity. Course, I am not a computer guy, just bored at the moment. Good luck |
