| I have had a Surefire E2D for about 3 years now, it sits on my night stand and doesn't get much use. I did carry and use it for about 6-7 months when I was worked armed security. Last night I grabbed it to use for light when I took the dogs out. When I hit the button on the tail cap the light came on then went off. Tried a few more times and sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I figure batteries going bad so I replaced them with brand new Surefires and it did the same thing. Tried two more sets with no effect. Do you think the tail cap is going bad or the bulb? |
Cleaned the contacts and it still is acting up, light will come on for a fraction of a second then cut off. Is there a spare bulb inside the tail cap under the spring? |
Nope, you paid too much for that. ![]() As others have said, call Surefire. You could probably fix the tailcap yourself but since it's been identified as a defective unit just get a new one under warranty. |
Nothing in life is free. You paid $20 for the flashlight and $100+ for the "free" replacement parts. Make them use the warranty you paid so generously for.

I have the Malkoff M60L in my G2, nice light! Even better with rechargeable CR123A's! |
Well, surefire markup is about 100% as enforced by surefire, so he paid THEM about $55 for the flashlight, and the dealer $55. |
