I hear ya. We breed bulls and have a good head count of cattle. I got a freezer full of the 'good stuff'.

Rabbits and chickens. You can raise both in your backyard in most places.

Chickens give you eggs and occasional fresh meat. Rabbits give you fur (you can card it and make yarn) and fresh meat.

Lol. No freaking idea. Supposedly, it is Kobe Beef. Depending on where you are, you should be able to find it at a higher class restaurant.

id rather cook it myself.  what i would like to do is find a place where i can go out and pick an animal at a ranch, have it butchered, then stuff it in a few freezers.

but to get back on topic...
what about donkeys?  that fat guy that eats weird shit on tv said it was pretty good.  you can still ride them, i guess.  but you could probably sustain more than one with the same amount of food and water as one horse.

I saw a picture of an ARVN commando who carried chickens in a bag on his belt when he was out on patrols. Only their heads were out of the bag, and they apparently stayed real quiet.
