So we're teased here on cable with food places that aren't in my area(Chicago.)

Along with Sonic, Jack In The Box is one of them.  They're advertising a Sirloin Bacon BBQ burger. I know a lot of people got sick about 15 years ago from eating there, but who likes Jack In The Box?

I got sick about 12 years ago from eating at JITB, and don't plan to ever go back.  There's an In-'N-Out just a few minutes farther away from my house anyway.

We do.

They've got an excellent Breakfast Jack's, Sourdough Cheeseburgers and some other good stuff.  One is 5 blocks from us and momma picks some up regularly.

I wish we had a Steak 'n Shake, though...I really miss their stuff.

Jack in the Box is one of the fast food places that serves everything.

Definitely an asset to have around.  Not exactly great or anything but a nice choice.

I used to love Jack In the Box.  They used to have great tacos. They were taco shells filled with meat, cheese, lettuce and then fried.

Never seen one

We got Krystal, but Krystal is overpriced and will tear you up

I usually grab a Jumbo Jack for breakfast at JITB because its the only place open at 4:30AM.

I love Jack in the Box however we don't have any close by, but they are in state.

I would kill a mofo for some White Castle though!

Well they're down in Southern Illinois, just like Sonic.

HH...Steak and Shake is excellent.

I also love Carl's, Jr. and In and Out's, too.  I had both living in CA and loved them.

I've seen Carl's Jr. in Central Illinois.  About 10 years ago Hardees used to be up here but they got out of the market around that time.

late night when drunk, there is nothing better than there imitation tacos 2 for 99c, also they spicy chicken sandwich and add hot sauce for kicks ass

I loved Jack in the Box.  Got hooked on it when I lived in Southern California.

I find it annoying that they play Sonic and Jack in the Box commecials around here...usually during Adult Swim after I've been drinking and it looks really good.

I used to love the "two tacos for 99 cents"...someone above mentioned it...meat, cheese, lettuce, and deep fried!  Toss some hot sauce and ketchup on there and I'm in heaven!  They also used to have a sourdough bacon cheeseburger that ruled.

The closest one is 226 miles from here.  I've thought about a road trip for just that before!

If you ever come back up here, we'll have to make an ARFCOM pilgrimage for some slyders!

Except I got sick the last time I went there.

You can't beat the fried tacos and ranch dressing...MMMMMMMMMM

JITB is the ULTIMATE midnight snack stop.

i used to work as a bail bondsman. used to get out pretty late, as i liked the night shift. less idiots, and the ones we did get were more interesting. id stop by the local jack on the way home to get dinner.

one day the overnight manager walks in to do his weekly check-in. i was like WTF? he was all "hey, its the #4 with an extra patty guy!"

i never had to pay for dinner ever again, until i got deployed. just rolled up to the speaker and ordered a 'bail burger'. good stuff.

its delicious, but greasy as hell. not as bad as McDonalds though.

Jack in the Box is awesome, I like pretty much everything on their menu better than any other fast food place.

Only place you can get eggrolls, bacon-cheddar fries and tacos at 4:00am.

They had an e-coli thing that killed a few people 15 or so years ago but I've never gotten sick there.

Their salads are good too.

I believe the nearest Yak-In-The-Sak is in TN.

God, I miss the Monster Taco (now Super Taco). My wife, who had never been to one before a rally in Oregon 5 years ago, is also obsessed with them.

At least Hardees is now Carl's Jr. I just wish they had the Western Bacon Cheeseburger.

Well, What-a-burgers do a TON of late night business, and they're great, too.  Too bad we don't have one close to us.

About 20+ years ago, before I was even born, my mom went to a Steak N' Shake with some friends. Now, my mom is the kind of person who will LET YOU KNOW if you messed up on an order.

What she got came with fries. Her fries were COLD but when she let the waiter know, she said "my fries are hot." Perhaps she was so flustered at what happened and the waiter said: "Well, blow on them, lady!"

They are significantly better than they used to be.  All that shows in how bad they were.

They rate a good solid OK from me.

They haven't killed anyone with their grub since, at least not enough to make the national news. You realize all of the prepared food you eat has a certain amount of filth allowed in it by the FDA/USDA, Right?
Better be hungry if you order that. It's BIG and JUICY.

Back in the 70's, here in Texas, JITB was caught selling horse meat burgers.

Google it.

We called the cash registers "win", "place" and "show".  Back in the day, a good time was had by all to go in and say loudly, "I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse."

Full of win.

Best are the jalapeno poppers (even though I shit battery acid afterwards) and the bacon cheddar curly fries (which takes forever to get the stupid clerk to figure out).

One night (morning) after closing our usual hangout, then hitting one of the local strip joints, we stopped (per our SOP, at a Jaques In Ze Box.  (Fine french restaraunt).

One drunken sailor, from  the backseat, the last to order, yells into the mike that he wants a 'Jumbo Jackoff with cheese".  Followed by laughing his ass off while being pummelled by everyone else for fixing us all up with generous portions of spit, or worse.

Why we didn't just drive on, I don't know, but we apologized, a bunch, while trying to strangle the guy in the back, who kept saying that shit every time we thought he was going to be serious and order from the menu.

We get our food, and hit the road.  We are all starving.  The guy driving, asshole's brother, unwraps his burger to find, surprise, no burger, just a bun, of questionable parentage.  Hilarity ensued, with huge debate about going back and demanding a 'replacement' burger.  Cooler heads prevailed, with some sandwich sharing from the back seat.

I did like those tacos, though.  Great cold, after waking up from a hard night out with a bag of those less-than-crunchy babies next to me on the couch at the barracks.

I used to love the tacos from Jack In The Box.

David the best copies in our area are at Novis Beef at Ogden and Oak Park Avenues in Berwyn.  Deep fried tacos with a mystery substance with added lettuce, a half slice of cheese and a few pieces of canned tomato.  They are not good tacos, but damn they are good snacks.  Novis has some damn good beef, and my favorite hot giardiniera.

Also, Sonic will be building a new location in Aurora at Kirk and Butterfield Roads in a new development called Savannah Crossings.  No time frame has been set, but they will be moving into the area.

Jack in the Box:  "Bringing you Massively Greasy Tacos since 1975"

I stopped going to Jack in the Box about 1976, and went back about 5 or 6 years ago.  The tacos are identical now, and the grease is still running off in rivers.

They have a hamburger that is edible.

5 blocks from my house is a JITB, Sonic and Whataburger all right next to each other.  My late night munchies are securely taken care of.

Although Sonic does close at 1am.
