Wifey, daughter, and I hit the local Cub yesterday for our weekly shopping. Not too much on the list - fruit, bread, milk, cheese, a few more canned goods for SHTF, etc. Family in front of (giant lady I presume to be mom, 5 kids between early teen and infant), all with obviously unwashed clothes/hair/etc are in the midst of FILLING 2 carts with steak, pizza, chocolate milk, Doritos, cheese popcorn (4 of the industrial size bags), literally 20 or more Banquet meals, plus assorted other frozen foods, plus 3 turkeys and 2 bone-in hams. After it all gets bagged up and placed in the carts the cow whips out her EBT (electronic benefits card) card. Lo and behold...the $617 and change worth of food is more than her total benefit amount. By this time we've been waiting for almost 10 minutes to ring out our 1/2 cart load... So what happens? She proceeds to pull stuff OUT of the bags and carts, and starts returning food. WTF? The poor checkout girl turns to us and starts apologizing profusely. I start putting our stuff back in the cart to go to another lane. The checkout girl again apologizes. This, my friends, is where my big-ass mouth once again gets me into trouble. I turn to the checkout girl, thank her for her concern, let her know I don't hold her responsible for the cow and family, and then utter, in my loudest just-shy-of-shouting voice "Wow - you sell any shirts that say 'Stupid, but fertile"? ok, end rant |
And sadly, your right. But then that just bankrupts the system that much faster. The sooner America fails the better we will be. |
Those parasites get increases in benefits based in inflation. The cow will get more and more and you and I ( those that pay for the cow ) will pay more and more for her stabling. |
Ohhh, but inflation has been running at 3%.... |
| My POS sister in law gets $400 a month for her and her two kids. ALL of it is spent on crap food. TV dinners, hotdogs, hot pockets ets. She doesn't buy ANYTHING that can't be opened, poured on a plate or in a bowl, and thrown in the microwave. It's not like she can't cook, she just doesn't want to. Shame too, she has a huge nice kitchen in her .gov funded housing that's twice as big as the place I live. I could go on and on. She is what's wrong with America. |
|
Did you BLADE her as you said that? Had amost the same thing happen to me the other day at Welfare Mart. Mid-40's Fat-Assed carbohydrate triceps (Skin hanging down from triceps muscle from exessive carbs) hosebag with several kids in front of me pulls out WiC card to pay for all kinds of shit. She has a teenage boy with her-typical urban attire-shoes, cell phone, cheap fake gold, etc. who doesn't help her with the groceries one bit. . .he looks to be about 14 or 15. She then produces a wad of cash and buys a few packs of smokes!!! Holy shit I was pissed!! |

...which was parked in a handicapped spot.

your comment is more fucked up than the fat lady's conduct. You Sir, FAIL. |
|
When I was in high school I worked part time at grocery store, and this lady came through the check out lane with 2 carts full of name brand shit, not the cheap stuff, and paid with food stamps. When I helped her out to her vehicle, sure enough, it was a new extended cab pick up, loaded with leather interior. I also saw a lady come through with a kid that obviously had a cold, she tried to pay for cough medicine with the rest of her groceries. When told she would have to pay for it with cash, she said she didn't have enough money for the medicine and her cigarettes. No surprise, but she chose the cigs over the medicine. |
|
I see it all the time. New cars. Lots of kids. Nice clothes. Paying for "their" shit with the card. I have sympathy for the moms with MS or whatever else "raising" 2 kids alone. Give them a hand up, if possible. All the rest can rot. If you can work, do so or die. That includes your kids. |
Maybe he is right. When a hearty race of nomads decends on us from the steppes of Mongolia who are they gonna eat first, responsible armed Americans, or fat baby factories with no self respect? |
I see what you did there.

That would imply they pay taxes to begin with

Foot long sub scribe How'd you get in trouble? Your post ended wheres the rest? My friends when they have succeeded in taking away our guns and the other rights we can jump onto the band wagon for free handouts free universal health care and whatever else. Naw!!!! I can't stand to live on the government, it aint for me..... |
See now, I read it differently that you do (that is the problem with the intraweb) One person can say something one way and 5 people can interperet it 5 different ways. i took it to mean that we have been sliding down this slippery slope for so long that when it America "fails" we shall turn around and it can get better... until then, it is a sad state of affairs. |
|
I just wanted to say do not place the blame on the case workers. They can report abuse, but there's only so much they can do. Trust me, most are just as ticked off as the members here. Many abusers get caught and are "placed in sanction" but the problem here is that there's an entire legal industry devoted to squeezing out entitlement benefits from the government and the recipients know how to play the game. Oh, the stories I've seen and heard... |
Hildabeast>> If I had just promised to increase welfare benefits, I'd have had this thing wrapped up by a long shot...Damn It!! <<Hildabeast |
Reminds me of:
|
This is what I got out of the "america must fail" comment. I guess after we hit rock bottom we'll be free to rebuild without these social programs? Not to late to turn it around in my opinion, but I knew what he meant. I think. |

You should only be able to buy basic foods that you have to prepare. Like flour, sugar, bread, ground meats, raw veggies, oatmeal, corn meal, etc. But I guess trying to inventory a system like that would be a nightmare and cost more than would be saved on TV dinners, candy, bags of Doritos, etc. |
with modern technology and now Ca (from what I am told) is using a "credit card" looking method, they should be able to track what kind of items people are buying and if people are abusing the food stamp program, revoke it. I mean how easy is it? Oh we see Mrs Smith used her food stamp card to buy Doritos and crap like that. Shut that card off or lower her monetary limit. If you can afford to buy crap, you are getting too much. i have an aquaintence that is on the food stamp and WIC program. Hard to believe that just 4 short years ago he was making $250K a year. Its not that he fell on bad times because the cards werent in his favor, He is a Victicrat in the first order and he is lazy and his wife is worse. They need to pay rent and she goes and buys a $400.00 purse or a new dinner set to match the decor, yet they borrowed from all their friends and family. What pisses me off is that he doesnt have the balls to shut the money flow off to his wife. |

I work at a grocery store and see this nearly everyday. Fatties (not just overweight but hugely obese) come riding in on their motorized wheel chairs or use ours (that are meant for disabled folks, not self-made walking marshmallows). They proceed to find every unhealthy food possible and stick it in their baskets. Often times they buy the most expensive items; the best steaks, the fanciest cheeses, the biggest cakes. Then they pull out the 'food stamp' debit card and use our money to keep themselves fat and happy. When people learn how to vote themselves money our republic will fail. A lot of people already know how: just vote for the politician who promises you other peoples money. |

One evening I was at Walmart, a man was his two kids infront of me and pulls out a Food Stamp card from Kentucky. It doesn't work of course because IN & KY cards are on different systems. The guy in very broken English starts arguing that the state just put the money on it. Makes the kid call the 1-800 number and go through the long process of getting all the info Wal Mart needs to manualy do it. Like 15 minutes After all that the dude goes over his card's limit. Which couldn't have been much since he only purchased about $150 worth of stuff. So the fucker pulls out a wad of 100's & 20's and pays the rest in cash. When I finally get up to checked out, the kid apologized to me. I told him it wasn't his fault. |
![]() Can we PLEASE close the door and hang a no vacancy sign outside this country? PLEASE? |
when I was growing up, and my mom took government assistance for a while(single mom, working two jobs, going to school full time, trying to raise me correctly because my biological father ditched), all you could get were the basics. I can't be the only person here that remembers government cheese. You had to go to a facility to pick it up, not the grocery store. This is what it should go back to. I think there are still areas that do it, but obviously letting people do it on their own is full of fail. It's why I have a hard time wanting to do away with social programs. I've seen them work successfully first hand. Mom finished school, got married, now has three adult children, mom still has a very successful job. But these goddamn people should not be allowed to buy dorritos with my fucking money. |

Isn't that interesting? I swear I wouldn't even know where to go to collect unemployment, let alone get into the vast array of these other types of handouts. I think a certain segment of our society live in a culture of dependance, and simply don't place any value on providing for themselves and their family with simple hard work. It probably gets worse every day, too. |
I would have said somethinng along those lines also.
