My best guess for Nov. results I put McCain at 301, Hussein 237 Republican pickups from 04: NH, MI, WI, ( I was tempted to put MN, due to the GOP convention being there and that Pawlenty may be the VP, but I did not) DEM pickups from the 04 election: CO, IA have fun www.270towin.com/ |

Playing with this map makes me so angry at the Republican Party. Reagan won in a landslide in 1980, and an even hugher landslide in 1984. Yet today's Republican leaders are telling us that that we "need to get over Reagan". Bush the First won much becasue of Reagan's popularity, and then blew it by being a turncoat scumbag (remember him cutting up his NRA membership card and laughing?). Eight years of Klinton followed. Bush the Second has done much the same thing- winning handily after the Klinton's numerous scandals and then barely winning a second term, largely due to the fact that Kerry was so inept. Lesson learned: run a REAL conservative and the country backs him with a huge landslide. Run a Democrat-light and get mediocre support, or lose the election to hard-core leftists. Makes you want to smack the party elders across the face.  |
