| Barack Obama has won the democratic nomination. What are your thoughts? |
You're kidding, right? I don't see where Ron Paul as a Libertarian would ever support any of Obama's agenda. John McCain is not George Bush, both for better and worse. Voting for "change" without knowing what that "change" is, is not well reasoned, logical, or defensible with fact. How have you missed any of this, n00bis? Or do you just not care? Obama going for the gay vote: "I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying." -- Barack Obama Obama going for the Handgun control, anti-gun vote: "I am not in favor of concealed weapons. I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations." -- Barack Obama Obama defending his hateful, racist, anti-America pastor, Jeremiah Wright: "I can no more disown (Jeremiah Wright) than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother - a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe." -- Barack Obama On April 29, 2008, Obama threw Jeremiah Wright under the bus in his speech disavowing his “former” mentor. Political expediency at its worst, Obama at his lying best. I wonder if Obama threw his grandmother under the bus too? "Just before Obama’s nationally televised campaign kickoff rally last Feb. 10, the candidate disinvited Wright from giving the public invocation. Wright explained: “When [Obama’s] enemies find out that in 1984 I went to Tripoli” to visit Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, “a lot of his Jewish support will dry up quicker than a snowball in hell.” According to Wright, Obama then told him, “'You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.'” But privately, Obama and his family prayed with Wright just before the presidential announcement." -- Ronald Kessler, Newsmax Rev. Wright made it clear that his words weren’t taken out of context. He confirmed that he meant exactly what he said in his hateful, racist, anti-American “sermons”. And Omama claims that he didn't know anything about this? Please. The nation is in for the same kind of treatment should Obama be elected President. The ends justify the means. Karl Marx would be proud. And then there’s that paragon of virtue, Michele Obama: "(America is) just downright mean." -- Michelle Obama "The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more." -- Michelle Obama And just guess whose pie it is that Michelle thinks Obama ought to steal? Even his Democrat opponent knows how woefully naïve and inexperienced Obama is: "I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002." -- Hillary Clinton The crown jewel of Obama’s sponsored bills in the senate. No wonder he’s earned the title “most liberal member of Congress. ”A nice-sounding bill called the "Global Poverty Act," sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote on Thursday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations. Senator Joe Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has not endorsed either Senator Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. But on Thursday, February 14, he is trying to rush Obama's "Global Poverty Act" (S.2433) through his committee. The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 13-year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends. February 12, 2008 http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-global-tax-proposal-up-for-senate-vote/ Obama’s plan to raise federal income tax rates to pay for social security. Never mind that it was mainly his Democrat buddies who bankrupted the program in the first place. http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2007-11-11-obama-social-security_N.htm And since you like to attack the messenger who delivers the facts, as in FOX news, perhaps ABC is more to your liking. Obama is too far left on taxes even for other Democrats: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4852958 Obama’s health care plan: Higher taxes on the “wealthy”. Big on rhetoric, short on details. Typical socialist class warfare. http://www.suntimes.com/news/elections/404970,obama052907.article Obama’s economic stimulus proposal - raise taxes. Never mind that it’s a proven fact that tax cuts stimulate the economy, and tax increases drive a faltering economy into recession. http://www.businessandmedia.org/printer/2008/20080109151041.aspx And this is just the tip of the iceberg….. |
+1 That pretty much describes either of the D candidates. Hillary is pathologically dishonest, a Marxist and reputed to sleep with a hot Muslim assistant. ![]() The Presidential choices SUCKED this election cycle ETA, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Obama is forced to accept Hillary as VP and then she has him whacked. Not likely, but possible. People who cross the Clintons often wind up dead.

It isn't Obama you need to fear but government period. The best government is a government that doesn't do anything. I don't see this new one will have that choice with the way the economy is going. The dollar will have to be strengthened regardless of who takes office. My preps are pretty straight forward, continue to work towards my long-term goals while getting major capital expenditures out of the way before the election. That's why I bought my roof. Asphalt shingles use petroleum and as money gets tighter on construction workers labor will increase. Though it could have waited another year, it couldn't have another 4-6 years. Wages always lack behind inflation. I bought my retirement truck intended to last 8 years plus. I hope its my last truck. To strengthen the dollar interest rates will probably shift upward. I'm working to eliminate any variable interest loans without simply paying them off out of savings. I can always do that when interest rates boom. Since there is a chance, we may have a left congress and president, that means bills can pass on a simple majority. Though not a high priority for survival planning, I have shifted my gun wish list from traditional guns to those that may be on the future ban list. Sadly, no matter who wins. I do not see a roll back of our individual freedoms in the near future. I most certainly see a same party congress and president as a definite fast track to losing more rights and higher taxes thus less buying power. Tj |
| The Bilderbergers pull the strings of all three candidates. They are told how it's gonna be and then carry it out if elected or not, one way or another. Why do you think we still have open borders? The coveted run for the white house has become a pony show. An entertainment event of sorts and largely, if not entirely steered by the media giants and other interests. What a crock. |
Excuse me but wtf? Call yoursellf what you are, a liberal. It's gonna be great to come out of the closet when Obama wins, won't it? |
|
Yeah, but just remember, Obama Hussien Barak, or what ever his name is, came from nowhere, came out of nowhere, has accomplished NOTHING, is deeply racist, has strong ties to criminals that have committed serious crimes against Americans, has NO experience other than a community activist, His wife is a racist hate whitey person, His family is anti-American, his 'mentors' are anti- white, anti-American, He is so liberal that he is blindly naive, He is all about 'feel good talk' and full of emptiness and false promise, if elected, would weaken America and hand over even more control to the UN body. He is WEAK. He is not a leader that can stand up to our enemies without appeasement spewing forth. He surrounds himself with ultra-liberal radicals. Chances are he will attempt to shear away our rights even more in all areas. He is however, a very strong Socialist. He has links to the American Communist Party. He intends to move us in that direction. He is not a squeeky clean black man as most supporters claim. He enjoys massive amounts of campaign monies from radical socialist sources. Our Islamist enemies Support him and hope he is elected, as he is a closet muslim. He is a lier like the rest. The man is power hungry and will not bring the change so many directionless souls crave and expect. He is playing on the emotions of a troubled population, in emerging hard times. His foreign policy is reckless and will only serve to kick out the remaining leg of America, the economy. It's my understanding that all the candidates are in bed with the globalist agenda and are more than willing to advance it and also show allegiance to illegal invaders over Americans. His wife is a racist bitch on wheels, just read her writings and read his!!! I don't want this dog and his bitch anywhere near the white house lawn. |
|
I think America was more ready to elect a white woman president than they are a black man of questionable background and possibly Muslim who has been in the senate less time than I went to college. So, I'm in a pretty chipper mood. As long as McCain doesn't do anything to piss anyone off too bad, I think we might have a win on our hands. |
|
He's the easier of the two to beat. I can't believe the Clinton Machine has allowed it. With the rattlings of the Michelle Obama tape coming out soon, I hope to see an ass beating like the '88 election. The idea of having McCain in office is rather ho-hum. However, the alternative is absolutely unacceptable and cannot be allowed. Osama Obama makes Clinton look like a Conservative. A message needs to be sent this election. Some words to Father Michael Pfleger. How dare I? Fuck you you money chasing communist. Booker T. Washington warned about assholes like you. "There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs." What exactly are you going to do Father? Bring a mob to my house? Black list me from work? Call me the racist? The day you die, the devil will throw another bag of coal on the fire. If you want these people leading the nation, let that Socialist in Office. You're judged by the company you keep. You really want the Rainbow/PUSH coalition running the United States of America? Are you fucking insane? |
|
my initial though? why the hell is this in the survival forum when there are plenty of other areas on this big sonofabitch to post the coming arguments? at least try to sneak in a "O won, now we need to stock up more" or somedamnthing lol IMHO it won't matter who wins in the end. It honestly seems that non of them are looking out for the interests of the citizens of the United States |
You got that right, and their actions are generally CONTRARY to the interests ofus citizens. And THAT certainly is worth mentioning in a survival forum... |
|
I think you are jumping the gun. The Dems have complained for 8 years that Gore won the popular vote and Bush shouldn't be president just because he got more deligates. Hillary has already brought this up, they can't have it both ways, if this stands then Gore has to go away. Until they vote in August I still think Hillary will be their candidate. |
|
I think we're doomed either way... I'd much rather have McCain in then Obama for the obvious reasons... but unfortunately I don't think its going to happen.. there are way too many stupid people out there who don't know truly what is really going on and why Obama will be horrible for this country and how our country will be much more unsafe when he gets elected. Start stocking up on all the stuff you want now... because he's going to do his best to see the gun bans back in place... With all of that said even if McCain gets in... he's very far left for being a republican... so even with him its the lesser of the evils... at least our guns and security would be safe. The economy is still going to suck... and then we will definitely be going to war with Iran... not that it shouldn't be done or is a bad thing... but unfortunately our economy at home at this point may not withstand it.... especially if we are fighting on three fronts. In my opinion the evil forces that be... are holding their hands and are just waiting to see how the cards fall on our side before playing their hand... their are so many things going on our side that will just add to their pot to help them cause chaos... its going to get messy in the years to come... its times like these that I'm thankful of my mindset and groups of people like ARCom for opening my eyes to being prepared for the coming. I think we have to keep in mind that Obama didn't win the nomination with anything close to a tidal wave of support. Despite the media frenzy about his campaign, he barely made it across the finish line. Half of his party didn't support him. And we'll never know the true numbers and sentiment of those within his party. As long as Florida and Michigan remain on the outs in this election, the numbers will remain skewed. And no, the so called compromise on Florida and Michigan did nothing to clarify that situation. In reality, if Florida and Michigan had counted when the respective primaries were held, Hillary would likely have won both states. The inevitable momentum that those wins would have provided would probably have carried Hillary to more wins and eventually the nomination. Obama's strategy was cagey, but it benefitted from the ineptitude of the Democrat party...and a bit of luck as well. Despite the fortuitious event that resulted in Obama's nomination, it can't be sitting too well in the Obama camp that they lost in all of the key states in the primary. Not only that, but they lost in the battleground states as well. And don't expect that Hillary is going to go quietly into that good night, either. She's full of rage against the party and Obama for having the audacity to "steal" the nomination that was "rightfully hers". Oh, she'll be subtle about the way she goes about it. She'll smile in Obama's face as she slips the poison in his drink behind his back. She's a "woman" scorned (and I use that term only in describing her gender, not her demeanor). If she can't have the Presidency, then no one in her party will. She'll show them that they made the wrong choice. Just you wait and see! Not only will she undermine Obama in every way she can until he loses in November, but she'll be right there to forgive those misguided Democrat souls who mistrusted her, and she'll unselfishly offer herself as the true saviour of the party in 2012. She'll be the model of graciousness and magnanimity...until the nomination is secured. Then the inquisition and the purges will begin. Maybe even the Democrats are not that stupid, but I'll bet that Hillary is betting on it. An interesting item of note regarding the general election between McCain and Obama: If we examine every election in the post WWII period, there's a very consistent pattern in the results. In each election cycle, the party that fielded the candidate that was furtherest from the center of the political spectrum, lost the election. Barak Obama is as far to the left as any candidate that the Democrats have ever nominated, while John McCain is a right of center candidate (as opposed to a traditional conservative or hard right conservative). Given that Obama is so far to the left, a more conservative Republican could have been nominated and would likely still win, but we're stuck with McCain. Pre-season is over, it counts from now on. Obama is going to have to define his agenda in tangible terms from here on out. "Change" simply won't be enough any longer. So, just how is Obama going to sell his call for higher taxes, nationalized health care (higher taxes), environmentally friendly laws governing all businesses (greater regulation/higher taxes), and the transfer of significant levels of US sovereignty over to the UN? And how is he going to tell the country that their sons and daughters died for nothing in Iraq as he cuts and runs leaving the door open for Iran to take over? The public wants the war in Iraq over, but they don't want the sacrifices to have been for nothing (the far left loony-tunes notwithstanding). John McCain wouldn't be my first choice for President. He wouldn't even rate fourth or fifth. But, he's all we've got, so it is what it is. Despite that, I like our chances in November. I like them very much.... |
|
I'm encouraged by it. First of all his agenda will be tempered by Congress and the Senate. I fully expect the Legislative branch to push back against the Executive and it's extraordinary gains in power. There won't be the free reign that the Congress has so negligently given the current administration. Second. We have a candidate that beat the Clinton machine by sticking to the rules and knowing how to apply them. This seems to be a theme with Obama. He's a guy who plays to win using the established rules of the game. That will be refreshing given the previous two administration's penchant for making it up as they go. I really don't care if it's McCain or Obama. Neither one is going to get a fraction of what they promise. It would be nice, for a change, to just have a President who speaks the truth and plays by the rules. J. |

OK, so part of my new "life plan" is to join the Army. Yeah, I know, be prepared to be called "pops". How does having a pathologically dishonest, out right Marxist (closer to Maoist, really), muslim sympathizer for a Commander In Chief effect me and my military ambitions? I suppose anyone who served under Clinton could answer that one pretty well And if I don't serve, how does it effect my family's survival plans? Our ability to train? Buy weapons? Ammo? Armor? Travel? Employment? Will stocking up on preps be labeled "hording"? For Gawd's sake! Shirley Temple has more foreign policy and diplomatic experience than all 3 candidates combined! Whiskey Tango Fox, over? |

From the perspective of a Ron Paul supporter, it's relieving to see Clinton out of it. I'll be voting for Obama come the general election, but only since he's the best of what's being offered once again. Reason being he's not part of the current elite washington clubhouse, who's members are primarily responsible for running the country into the hole it's in now. I'm a conservative/liberal mutant, so thankfully i don't have to participate in the dem/repub gang colors arguments of debates. I simply pick the person who makes the most sense. Paul was it, but all I can hope for now is his ability to weaken Mccains chances by sucking some of his repub votes away. Believe me, I love my bang bangs, my CPL and all the 2nd amendment perks I currently have, but to simply roll over and vote for a man like Mccain, knowing full well his foreign policy stance and SUBSTANTIAL lack of knowledge in both that area AND in economics, just because Obama "might" try to pass a few anti-gun laws because he's a democrat.......I can't think of a better way to measure ignorance and stupidity. also........ +1 for "why is this in the survivalism forum?" |
And because Obama is not part of the "elite washington clubhouse" that automatically makes him the best choice? Oh no, you're not "rolling over and voting for a man like McCain". You're going to vote for something far, far worse. This is an election of the lesser of two evils, not a rush towards the greater of two evils. I don't like the choices either, but, I be darned if I'll aid the enemy in my own demise. You think Ron Paul would support Obama? I doubt it. |
How are you "aiding the enemy" if you vote for Obama? I can't wait to hear this....... Ron Paul may disagree with some of Obamas positions, but he definitely does not support Mccain. The decision is easy, if your happy with the past seven years, vote Mccain. If your not, vote differently. I will be voting differently. |
Obama does not really have much of a record in gov. What we do know about him is not encouraging.....he'll be Jimmy Carters' second term. Not sure if you were around to remember how that went. This is absolutely the worst time to elect an appeaser like him. Iran will have the bomb soon unless they are stopped. Once they have the bomb it will be too late. We can't afford to have Obama talk to Iran the way Chamberlin talked to Hitler. WAY to much at stake here. If only it was just about guns or some liberal scheme to control them. That's reason enough to have it in this forum. |
Put another way: ALL of OBamBam's followers were at his ralleys. They can't get out the vote. |
Rev Pfleger is a white guy.....did you know that? |
Because one must prepare just in case he does get elected. |
I highly recommend you lay off the Fox News. It can make you a scared little sheeple instead of a level headed individual. |
Fox news wasn't around when Jimmy Carter tanked the country....and apparently you weren't either. Obama offers nothing new....if you knew anything at all about history, even the recent history of this country you would know that. |
|
so what...he says a lot but I highly doubt he'd get half of it done if elected. He has 3 years experience in politics, thats hardly enough salt on him for him to really say he knows how it works. he THINKS he knows how it works, but really he only has a small bit of the picture. My 2 biggest fears are these 1. He'll be assassinated and will become my generations JFK, who really was a shitty president IMHO. 2. He'll screw over the chances for any future minority to be president because he doesn't get anything done or makes a complete fool of himself. holy shit I fear for a democrats life.....I'm getting soft. ETA: Personally I think both options are crappy ones, but hey I can't stand Obama so that makes my choice easy. You better believe though that McCains people have been hard at work digging up dirt and anything in his past or his wife's past that may seem somewhat suspect. I'm just waiting for the upcoming shitstorm to begin. |
you mean the United States of Obamination....and I do mean that both figuratively and litterally It's amazing how many of his supporters know very little to nothing about Black Liberation Theology and how many of them believe that he doesn't share any views of his former Reverend. Just wait and see what skeletons will be dug out of his closet by the republican party...it's going to get ugly and it's going to happen fast. You're completely right about the outlandish goals, though it's par for the course of society and people these days. They want the world when really they can only have a small impact on it. |
|
My thoughts are: He only appears to have won the nomination at the present. Superdelegates and even regular delegates are not bound by anything when they vote at the convention. He is only the presumptive nominee as long as he is still breathing. One militant feminist could change all of that. And if he seriously considers Hitlary as a runningmate after her Bobby Kennedy crack a week ago, he deserves what he gets. |
Actually, yes. You can be a piece of shit no matter what race you are. The quote was directed at people like Sharpton and Jackson; however it applies to all races. I do thank him though for exposing Osama Obama for whom he really is. His wife sure feels the same way as our friends at Rainbow/PUSH. Hilary and Obama both raised about a quarter billion dollars so far, each to try to jam this left wing doctrine down our throats and make it seem like everyone is goose stepping with them. McCain has pulled in about a 100 million or so. |
Dude, are you nuts???? Do you know anything about Obama???? His recipe for "change" (even though he has not really enumerated it, you can glean an understanding from his votes, his writings, and the people he has surrounded himself with) is to abandon what we started in Iraq and leave a huge vacuum of power for Iran to fill, tax the crap out of everything/everyone except the lazy ass crack smoking cheeto eaters, and give all the cheeto eating welfare crack baby's momma shitbags a free frigging ride to the middle class at OUR expense. Tax tax tax tax tax the crap out of the middle class and the wealthy, and give give give free health care, free food, free money to those who LEAST deserve it, because "the MAN still be holding them down". This election is not just about guns. Obama would take us literally over the edge. Think Jimmy Carter on the foreign policy front (Jimmy yanked funding and support from the Shah of Iran, an event that was pivotal in the formation of Islamic terrorism against the West!!!) and the US becoming like all the horror stories you heard about what it was like living in the USSR (constant food shortages, gas shortages, drab section 8 style housing for all but the privileged government workers, the worst and least timely healthcare in the developed world) under "government provides everything" communism. Soviet style communism made everyone "equal".....and everyone wound up living at around the level that my mom, brother, and myself lived growing up in section 8 housing and living on $600 a month, food stamps, and government cheese. I worked way to MFing hard over the last 15 years to make a better lifestyle for myself to see the goobermint come and kill competitive health care, and take all my money in taxes. The rich and middle class will be sucked dry and pushed down to the level of the poor, who's lives will only barely be made better in the long run. And the only real beneficiary will be big business and government workers....the privileged class, even in the communist Soviet Union. That's what Obama wants. And he truly believes that it will make the US a better place, it's obvious. That's what makes him really dangerous. And on top of that, he is a modern day Black Panther type in his racial attitude, he just has the sense to keep his mouth shut in front of whitey. Like I said, are you nuts??? Or is ignorance bliss? |
muslims have made huge strides in the american political system since 19 of them took down a couple of towers. His involvement with fellow extremists will do little to harm his chances.
Too late
Don't bet the farm on that one. |
Good. Nine months ago, I was deeply afraid that he'd win in November. Today, I kinda doubt it. And if he does, well, we might as well let him do even more damage than Shrillary would... there's a very good chance he'll wreck things so badly we'll get another 1994 conservative revolution, and no liberal Democrat will be able to win a spot as dog catcher for ten years. |
Wow, did I sleep through the convention? Did Hillary concede and release her delegates rather than suspend her campaign? Did the nomination actually happen... cus none of the delegates - pledged or super delegates are actually committed and required by law or party rules to vote as people suspect they will. I appreciate you loaning us your crystal ball. |
