Humongo and I went up to the dump today to take care of a load of yard waste. As we were pulling out, we noticed a couple next to the free compost pile putting compost into nice thin household garbage bags. Now normally I wouldn't have thought twice about this as lots of ID10T's are there doing stupid stuff, but they husband was using trash bags on his hands to try and load it into the bag his (quite attractive) wife was holding. WTF???  I looked at Humongo and said, "Maybe we should offer to let them use our shovel." So we got out and helped them load up about 6 bags of nice compost, and proceeded to help them load it into the trunk of their nice clean Volvo, right next to some white boxes marked blueberry and strawberry.  As we were finishing, the wife said, "Ooh, I hope we don't squish the pie!!!" (in said boxes) To which Humongo and I both perked up and looked at each other. She then said, "Maybe we should offer these guys some pie for helping us!"   We both turned, collected our shovel, exchanged pleasantries, and headed for the Jeep. As soon as we were in and the doors were shut Humongo looked at me and said (before I could), "Mmmmm PIE!!!!" I almost choked laughing so hard!!! It would have been some nice warm pie too!!!!   M |
