| I just DLed a .exe and ran it thinking it was a java update. What can I do to get rid of it. I just reformatted this thing. |

Sorry I don't use Windows, I'm sure someone who does will chime in soon with other recommendations, but I hear a great place to start is AVG - free.grisoft.com/ Hope this helps a little... ETA also get as much information on whatever's infected your system as you can, and just Google the hell out of it; you won't be alone... |

lawls, exe=bad Best thing to do is download avg or another good free anti virus program. Hopefully the virus/bug isn't very complicated and it will allow the scan to run. There are some out there that won't let you run anti-virus programs thus screwing you. Best of luck. |
| In additon to resident programs like AVG you can visit sites like BitDefender, Kaspersky and TrendMicro Housecall for online scans of your system. There are a lot of other free programs like Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy that are useful. No single software program offers complete protection. |
