I am looking to buy an inexpensive desktop computer. I need a fairly large monitor for doing graphical presentations.

Can I buy a cheap 32" HD TV for this use? I've seen some at Wal-Mart  under $600(RCA, Westinghouse etc) that say PC on them. Any drawbacks?

Also, is a VGA port still standard on the newest computers, or do they use a different type of jack?

TV's as monitors can't really produce text really well on a screen. just fyi
