Anyone know a site with some reliable facts about how many private citizens own machine guns, how many states they are legal in, if there were any crimes committed with legal machine guns, and so forth?

Great site, some of the members are REAL assholes.

They have an entire section of the site allocated to arms regulated by the National Firearms Act!

Got a buddy who's planning to retire there... he wants Class II and silencers and was pissed that KS wasn't NFA friendly.

Can hardly wait to break the news to him.

Tell him to look up SB46.  It's on the governor's desk right now.

She has two options, obviously:  veto it, or sign it.  If she vetoes it, there are two problems.  First among these is the fact that some genius slipped in a part to the bill making defacing the serial number of a firearm carry harsher penalties.  If she vetoes it, she is going to forever be soft on firearms crimes.  Second among these is the fact that we seem to have the number on our side for a veto override

FACT: I bought an M-16 but had to sell it before I even got to shoot it due to a divorce.

FACT: Machineguns are fucking expensive due to some fucked up laws

FACT: Ammo prices make me think a machinegun would be hard to enjoy these days

FACT: If I got another one I'd be leaning very heavily towards a 22LR (or one with a 22LR kit/upper)

I think she can also just ignore it and it will automatically pass after a time limit.  Someone in the KS HTF said that time limit was 10 days, which passes tomorrow if I remember correctly.

That is correct about her ignoring it - I overlooked that  Been at work too long.

If it is in fact 10 days then you are correct on your other count as well...tomorrow will mark the 10th day since the bill was sent to her desk.

I just looked it up and tomorrow is the last day she can veto it.  If she doesn't act then on Tuesday the bill will pass.  We just need more dealers in KS now.

I won't be getting a machinegun since the prices are ridiculous (saw a $3,500 MAC10 at the Tulsa gun show a few weeks ago ) and the range I go to specifically says no machineguns but I will be getting suppressors.

Gotcha, that makes sense.  I'm excited.  There is a C3 dealer out of Leawood - can't remember his board name right now.  That's right on down the road from me.  I would love a suppressor but I'd have to buy in a private sale right now as I'm not 21.
