It's weird to see Comedy central and G4.tv being so open about the "holiday". I'm watching Attack of the Show and they have a two hour show dedicated to 420 and smoking weed. I can't say I have never smoked ganja in high school but that was a while ago, I'm just surprised to see it being talked about so publicly. Is "420" just common knowledge now? |
Not like its illegal, and they know all stoners do on 420 is it on their ass, blaze, and watch tv.... So why not?

Yeah, all the dope heads who think mentioning 4:20 everyday is funny are at home at that time in the afternoon so they might as well cater to them.

Nah its totally true, every stoner I know is just chilling blazing alllllll day today, and whats gonna get more views? Regular crap programming, or classics like cheech n chong, half baked, and how high?

the war on drugs has been the biggest pile of FAIL ever created and this doesn't surprise me. While walking to the laundromat or the corner store I'm occasionally asked if I'm looking to buy. A few nights ago while sitting on my friends porch one guy who just returned from work took out a bowl and passed it around (I waved it on, I can't enjoy myself if I smoke). My corner store sells rolling papers, blunt wraps, bowls, screens pipes and bongs. In terms of how often the law is violated, possession of weed is akin to people who download songs and movies. Its just not gonna stop. |

this is the second time I'm hearing about this... The first was also today in the description of one of the shows on tv. This is the first I'm hearing about it as some sort of holiday. If someone came up to me before today and said hey it's going to be 420... I'd look at my watch and then maybe a calendar then go "Yeah, So what?" |
My friends were hitting up a drive through and eating food after a party last night, and some chick walked up and asked if we would sell her bud. I was just like....Damn when you got people with the nerve to walk up to a random stranger and ask for weed....The war on drugs is a Fail, for sure. |
Well you are in CA so you could just hit up Oakland or San Fran and go to a dispensary, basically legalized distribution everywhere. A kid I went to school with his cousin owns a dispensary and made a quarter million last year profit and thats a small one

The guys who are growing this shit for the medical community are making a fortune. The clubs are smart enough that they basically charge street prices for dope. They'd be taking a serious risk if they undercut the black market by a considerable margin. The club owners themselves do make a bit of money, but the freaking growers basically get to unload their product at normal black market prices, but do so in a slightly less risky grey market. |
Yeah they make crazy money. The problem lies in job stability. Without warning the DEA could kick in your door, seize all your shit and take all your money, and they do. |
Yeah it really is amazing, all the genetics and breeding they do is actually interesting. I took a class a few semesters ago on Marijuana, there are 1000's of different strains It would be an interesting job if there wasnt threat of arrest and seizure of assets. Genetic engineering is some pretty interesting stuff.

yea It's worth more than GOLD per OZ and you can grow it. Money doesn't grow on trees. It grows on POT Plants. your ten time more likely to hurt someone or yourself on Alcohol, rather than POT, never seen a pothead shake when they wake-up, alcoholics wake up shaking till they get that first drink in them. Alcohol poisoning...... You can't O.D. On pot. Never seen a pothead smoke a joint then beat his wife. How many times on cops when the cops show up "He hit Me" "have you folks been drinking" "yea". Just like the anti-gun people (only see guns in the BAD light) who never fired a gun, know nothing of POT and how it effects you. You only see the potheads that are caught, like gang bangers who use there guns. You don't see the Dr. Lawyer, Business owner (they don't get caught), just like the media doesn't show the MANY MANY people who own guns and never break any other laws. Image that the .gov and the media has been lying to us |

I don't use the stuff.....But I dont understand the point behind making it illegal Like....Alcohol and Tobacco are FAR worse and / or more addicting, yet they are completely legal. And at the same time, If it were legal it would be taxable - You would think the govt would be all over that one. All it really does is mellow people out, Alcohl seems to make people WAY worse, not sure I see why its illegal? From a purely objective standpoint |
Yep. What he said. Are there worthless tools who make all smokers look bad, sure. Just like there are idiots and gangbangers that make all assault rifle owners look like baby killers. I don't know for a fact, but it stands to reason that the alcohol lobby does a lot to keep any de-criminalization of weed from happening in DC. And the politicos listen, because alcohol is a lot easier to tax than weed ever could be. Its a shame. The money wasted on weed related law enforcement and incarceration is staggering, and as in intoxicant, it is nearly harmless. |
IMO, there's a fear that if you legalized pot, the others (E, coke, opium, etc) would surely follow. I think it would be OK to legalize. We need tax revenues people! |
