I suggest everyone go out and grab a copy of The Black Book of Communism by various authors. I found this to be the definitive end-all book about the motives and actions of various communist regimes. A lot of the written material came from people who were once communists and found the light about their beloved government-style. Yes, at ~$20, it's a big price tag, but at almost 1000 pages of well written and researched material. Black Book Another great book; Lenin, Stalin. and Hitler: The Age of Social Catastrophe, couples well with tBBoC. Dr. Gellately knows his shit in and out. He is a current professor of mine. Communism can't function without slavery and mass murder. Anyone who self-identifies as a communist is sizing you up for a gulag or a bullet in the neck, so they should be killed immediately in preemptive self defense. That self-identification should be a positive defense to a homicide charge. |
