So I asked my SO to take my Marathon GSAR into a jewelers shop to have the battery changed today. She just called me and asked if I wanted it "re-preassurized". I said sure, thinking it might be nitrogen filled or something to that effect, but afterwards I started thinking about it and have the following question.... Do they really need to be preassurized, and even so, whenever the adjustment knob on the side is unscrewed and pull out to adjust the time and date, dosn't this compromise any preassurization? Would I be better served doing my own argon fill in the watch instead? |

The only watches that I have heard about that have an argon filling are Sinn and they have to be sent back to the factory in Germany for that service (I thought that the service provider in the US was going to get a machine to do this, but not sure if they have). I did not think that the Gsar had any type of filling. Were they talking about a pressure test to make sure that the watch was still water proof maybe? Jason |
