Gotta give props for them actually ending it like the book!  If only I am legend would have done the same.

Yeah, that ending was pretty damn depressing.  I like the movie overall though..

Its the closest to the book any movie I have seen in recent memory
but the book was only like 200 pages so its not that difficult to get everything in

and Uh the ending was a little different than the book the book provided no closure like the movie did

There wasn't much closure in the ending of the movie either...just saw more of what was said in the book...

How old are they?
I haven't seen them.

To add...I just bought the movie as well and finally watched it.

I loved the unhappy ending.

Maybe I will start a new thread in a few days about it.

Did you post this same complaint in the thousands of "I am Legend" threads?

Oh and getting a unique avatar and uploading it isn't "rocket surgery science" either.

Here, use this one.

Yes, I read it when I was a kid...I think it was around the time I was in Jr. High.
Very cool book I thought.

I thought it was great too, kinda like I am legend...not your typical happy ending story.

Happy endings are predictable and not realistic.

I read the book and saw the movie as well. I think it was the best movie made that Steven King has written. Followed the original very well.

Now if the moderators can just spend more time cleaning up the "What gun was in Heat" and "Red Dawn" threads instead of messing with a new movie that has been recently released.

I thought it was a good rental movie, it shows how quickly people can breakdown. I too liked the ending.

the novella ended in a HoJo's with mattresses piled on the floor and them following a barely heard radio transmission saying "portland"

very different from the movie ending

I did like the movie ending though

Not so much some of the other changes

much better overall than I expected

I did not read the book but I did like the movie.  I wished he would have saved one bullet:  not for himself, but to bust off at that 500 foot thing that walked across the road near the end.
