Which do you prefer?
I've tried out an MTAC, but am worried about the leather wicking sweat and rusting my gun during the summer. I also like that you can get new kydex half bodies.

Anyone tried both and prefer one over the other?

ETA: I have basically narrowed it down to these 2, but you may also recommend other tuckable holsters that are in the same price range and have no lead time (i.e. no VMII).

I actually browsed through the Carry Issues area, but thought a comprehensive search would be difficult due to the numerous ways people type the holster named (e.g. Mtac, m-tac, m-t.a.c., m tac). And most threads I found were just discussing one or the other, not both at once.

I voted mtac. I have used a ctac for about a year and it's great except that the top edge of the kydex "sweatguard" pokes my lovehandle (and I ain't fat). I'm looking to try an mtac to see if that helps.

It really only matters in the sumer when I want to just wear a t-shirt with no undershirt but that's half the year around here.

Why do you prefer the CTAC?
Like I said, I haven't tried a CTAC yet, but I'm worried about the leather letting sweat through to my gun during the summer.

It just seems to fit me better. The MTAC is kinda wide.

I also like the positve 'click' that you get when the gun snaps into the CTAC. No click on an MTAC.

Comfort wise, they are both the same to me, as I wear an undershirt between the holster and my body.

I have "The Answer", of which the MTAC is a less expensive clone. When I get my next holster, it'll definitely be an MTAC/Answer style holster -- I am 100% sold on the hybrid leather/kydex design.

I love my C-Tac. What's an M-Tac?

I have the MTAC and like it but they don't make the kydex half body for the P220 Carry .

Do any of you guys with an MTAC have issues with sweat seeping through the leather to your pistol? I know someone who has this problem.

i havent had this issue yet as ive only worn it in cold weather, but, i fail to see how it could be an issue.

Ordinarily no.

Only if I've been hauling around prefab sections of steel in New Orleans heat like I was yesterday.  Anyway, it was only a drop or two and I just wiped it off.

I carry a SIG P228, which seems to have a rep for rusting (I haven't had any issues, but I've been using kydex).

No, what I'm saying is, unless you work outside in 90+weather, I don't see how you can completely soak the leather.  I just dont think its reasonable.  And even if you did, id think the larger leather backing would keep the sweat from rolling down inside the holster like it would with just kydex.  It makes sense in my head, but your probably wtfing my post.

I see what you're saying. My concern was with sweat going through the leather, but since it doesn't seem to be a huge issue , I will assume it isn't much of one at all.

I verted Mtac because my ctach doesnt cver the mag realsese  and gouges the shit out of my blubber. Futher it is too long and teh kydex is not verry compfortable on my skin, so anything is better thean that.

I vote M-Tac. To me it is a lot more comfortable than the C-Tac I had. I carry a G26 or a G19. I really like the fact that it is modular. The only drawback I see is that the pistol doesn't "click" in as it did with the all kydex holster so you have to be more careful so as not to drop your pistol anytime your belt is undone.

I utilize the M-TAC Minotaur holster for my P2000SK and it is the most comfortable and stable holster yet.  It is well made and I wear a t-shirt under my pull over shirt to help in wicking sweat away from the holster.
