Stress always brings them around for me. Best way to get rid of them is to ice when they first appear and then use Abreva, should be gone in less than a week.

+1 you got herpes...  Get a script for Zovirax if it really bothers you, or some of that Abreva shit..one of my troops swears by it.

Abreva FTW. It takes care of it in days.

Don't worry about it. I usually only get them when very stressed and that works out to once every 18-24 months.

Oh, yeah just to let you know you got the version of the Herpes that almost 80% of people have.

Stress. I use Abreeva to help get rid of them. You can go to the doc and get the really expensive antiviral Rx stuff but it doesn't work any faster.

If you've had chicken pox anytime, it will also be possible to get another variant of this herpes called herpes zoster or shingles. I think they have a vaccine for that now.

Don't perform oral sex on a man because you may give him herpes.

Same thing here. I went years without a cold sore. Then right after a really bad cold, I got a mild one last month.

Usually, in my case, exposure to a lot of sunlight triggered the outbreak.  Getting one after the cold was something new.

In any event, they are more of a nuisance than anything else when they appear. And emabarrasing too. They are hard to hide right there on your lip for everyone to see.

Get some zovirax as soon as you can.  It will help.

According to WebMD:

"Although most people have been exposed to HSV, only about 20% to 40% develop recurring cold sores. After a person becomes infected, the virus remains inactive in the body until it is triggered by something such as sunlight exposure or stress. When active, the virus results in a cold sore outbreak."

A lot of others may be harboring the virus and not know it. It is just sitting dormant.......Just waiting to reveal itself.

If you munch the carpet and then plug for glory, you'll give it right back to yourself...

Easy on the acidic foods, chocolate, and get some rest.

You always had teh Herpes.  It's just something happened that allowed the virus which was hiding in your cells to start up again.  Once these go away, the virus will still be there.

Herpes labialis

Valtrex, 2gm in the morning and 2gm that evening for one day when you feel the tingle (before cold sore erupts) will turn off most of them and you will never get the lesion.

Look like this?

or this?
