My friends and I were out shooting on saturday.  We had a target out at 530 yards and conditions were perfect.  The bullet trace was visible every time we took a shot.

I dont know if you have ever seen it, but it really is one of the coolest things ever.

It is also pretty awesome when you hit a silhouette with open sights at over 500 yrds

Service Rifle team coaches have used bino's or scopes to watch bullet wakes and give  adjustments  for at least 50 years.

I didn't think about getting pics until we were on our way home.  I wish that I had.

I know that coaches and spotters use the trace to call shots....But have you ever seen it for yourself?

When the sun's behind me, I can often see the .45s flying downrange. The light glints off the base of the bullet.

It also helps if you're shooting into snow, it's easier to see the projectile that way.

Seeing trace is cool, but learning to read it is even better!!
Glad you saw it, some people still don't believe it exists!
