ahhh, i misunderstood your post. GFY |
So let me get this straight - You took someone else's picture (that could be made in 15 minutes by anyone competent with adobe illustrator), tweaked it just a little to suit your tastes, then used said picture of an AR bolt face on an AR forum and you're having originality issues? |
+1 dude, not like it's hard to make at all. If I wasn't at work right know I'd fire up illustrator and make one myself. Post it here when you're done! |
Exactly. YOU copy someone else's logo. Put it out there for the public to see, then you're upset when people use your |
ibtl. |
Pretty much. I suppose imitation is the highest form of flattery. Why do you have to use my tweaked design? Why not make your own and go about your way? It's that simple. I don't expect many to understand. You would have to be well liked and popular for people to want to copy something of yours. Obviously I don't rock the bolt logo anymore. So who has a high resolution image? nikaios? anyone? |
edit- I think you are lying about what's in blue. The logo always had a dot to represent the firing pin, and the original background was already black ![]() JBowels was not the original designer. It had no one original designer. It was a collaborative effort. JBowels was the one with the original bolt face image and that took the collective thoughts of those involved and did the work to actually produce the current image. It was my idea to shade it such that the extractor and the ejector stand in opposite contrast to the rest of the bolt lugs, but you don't see me claiming any exclusive rights to your image. Lots of folks use pictures that are not their own creations as avatars. If you have a justification for true copyright infringement on your slight alteration of a design that is not your own, feel free to pursue it. I think you are acting like an unjustifiably selfish ass. The design ain't "YOURS". |
Micah, since I was in on the original design, I have several high res (I think) images of the different forms the logo took, including the final one. email me and I'll send you some. |

Since I've been called to the carpet, I figured I would chime in. Can't figure how a white on black illustration of an M4 boltface could even be considered an original design by someone who sat down with a computer and DUPLICATED an image which is sold on merchandise in our own ARFCOM online store. If I'm wrong, please, someone feel free to correct me. |
right click save as. please don't sick the RIAA on me.
|
I believe that the stuff in the store came after above said grievances. |

Yup, that about sums it up. |

wow, of all things to get pissy about. maybe some ppl need to step away from their computer and turn on the TV (news) or look outside. Id hate to see what will send some ppl to the roof tops, maybe being called by someone elses name? who knows? while the design is okay, it certainly doesnt do anything for me, its no MADCOW. lol |
me too...oh yeah, IBTL |
Your a complete prima donna.
