I have been trying to figure out our political system for a few days now and this is what I have come up with. Please add corrections and/or comments if I have screwed something up.
------------------------------------------------------------

[s] => [/s]
=>

Replublicans => Democrats.

Democrats => Socialists.

Socialists => Socialists who don't realize the US is biased against them.

Libertarians => Anarchists who vote.

Anarchists => People who just want to break stuff.

[s]Green Party => Socialists & Libertarians who don't want a military.[/s]

Green Party => Communists who don't want a military. (Updated)

Independants => Misc. Party.
------------------------------------------------------------
Here's why:

People who call themselves Republicans (people who don't want change) are actually carbon copies of Democrats bending to the will of special interist groups.

People who call themselves Democrats (people who want change) are actually Socialists who want the government to take care of them.

People who call themselves Socialists (people who want the government to take care of them) know people are predjust against Socialism so they call themselves Libertarians or Democrats.

People who call themselves Libertarians (people who want minimum government) are actually Anarchists who vote.

People who call themselves Anarchists (people who want self-government) are actually just people looking for an excuse to break stuff.

[s]People who call themselves the Green Party are actually Socialists & Libertarians who don't want a military.[/s]

People who call themselves the Green Party are actually Communists who don't want a military. (Updated)

People who call themselves Independants are actually people that know that the political system is screwed up so they just put themselves in the 'other' catigory who have collectivly said "f*ck this wacked sh*t!".

You sure about that?  The green party is chock full of anti-libertarian and anti-freedom ideals.  Maximum wage, increased taxation, disgustingly strict environmental controls, gun control, 'prosperity for all' = increased welfare and meaningless government jobs.

Yah, the green party I have had trouble figuring out, and even with your explination I still can't figure them out. I knew about them being tree huggers who are not in touch with reality already, but what are they really about?

Maximum Wadge and Max Taxes would basically mean death for the lower class, right?

I've always loved that phrase! [:D]

Yeah, you got it pretty well figured out. The Greens are just socialists using the environment as cover. (I'm a small L libertarian btw)

Would a (small l) libertarian be the true libertarians? I think I got the big L Libertarians correct.

Thanks for partially fixing your definition of a Libertarian.  It's still incorrect, but not as much so as it used to be.

Most Libertarians I know fall somewhere on the spectrum from "let's radically trim down the government" to Constitutionalists to minarchists -- a minarchist is someone who believes that the Constitution is a maximum and should be trimmed back a bit further.  (For one thing, the Third Amendment could probably be tossed without much fanfare nowadays, although I recognize the historical necessity.  Personally, I'd keep it, since if we ever got into desperate straits again, it might again become relevant.)

There are very few anarcho-Libertarians -- the very act of belonging (or identifying) with a political party, and voting for it, tends to weed out anarchists. . . .

The main thing, though, is to limit the federal government to somewhere in the vicinity of what's in the Constitution.  State and local governments can do whatever the people within their jurisdictions allow them to do, which means let Wyoming be Wyoming and let Kalifornia be Kalifornia.

Actually I corrected the Green Party, not the Libertarian one. I don't know anything about the true libertarians so I left them out. I probably should have been a little clearer; by "" I meant their political party, not their actual beliefs. Why couldn't the political parties be named by what they actually belive?

As you all probably figured out, I was trying to (overly) generlize the political system and how it is screwed up.

I also left out Communism because they are almost never heard from in US politics.

Personally I don't understand the Socialist point of view. Why have the federal government TRY to take care of us when it is run by a a large group of people making compromises and being influanced by lobbyists making it almost impossible to do what they should be doing? (Can you at home spot the over-generalization?)

And where should people go to learn more about what is really going on? The ever-biased media? The politicians? I feel better off with a magic-eight-ball!

Okay, enough ranting, for now.
