I had such high hopes that it wouldn't suck... You'd think they could get a decent storyline for at least the first season... too many "why the fuck would you do that?" moments in the show... ![]() ![]() I was also hoping Sarah Conner = Sarah Conner from T2 |
James Cameron wrote and directed the first two. The series was supposed to end at T2. That's why nobody else but Arnie signed on for that total piece of crap that was T3, and he was elected as Governor of CA right after he did. The producers of T3 also have a hand in this series. That's why it will never live up to the original.

I second that. For an example of why I /facepalm sometimes while watching it, like that list of people that may have created Skynet, instead of befriending them and getting all attached to the geeky computer guy and half-assing it by just burning down his house, Sarah Conner could have just given lady-terminator the list of names and said "Go kill all these, see you in a day or two" No mess, no attachment, no getting John almost killed, no worries. |
That's why the only Terminator material I will ever watch is T1 and T2. T3 was horrible and I won't bother with this new TV show I don't even know what channel it's on. |
+1000000 T1 and T2 were incredible movies. T3 sucked so hard, it almost single handedly ruined my faith in current Hollyweird movies. I havn't watched any of the new series, and i wont. |

Well, a couple of things. First of all, I rather detest shows that rewrite the history that one has been lead to believe. In the movies, (T1-T2, never got around to seeing T3), we know Sarah was impregnated by Reese, went south and had John, teamed up with militant types, got shot breaking into a defense factory, ended up in the nuthouse, changed history by removing the chips that created the future, prevented the nuclear war from occurring, went south again. End of story ........ and any story that tries to change that is changing that history. This is assuming that such is happening in the tv series which I absolutely refuse to watch because it is on FOX. FOX got with me the nasty reputation of giving the audience something good then yanking it away because they thought they had something better coming down the pike, even if the first show was good. That's what they did with Briscoe County, that's what they did with Sliders. FOX that has the reputation of jerking around the audience by not advertising their own shows, misadvertising their shows, or lying to the audience of what was done with the show. That's what they did with Wonderfalls. They wouldn't give it any advertising and they yanked it after a few shows, saying they rescheduled it for another night, but the next week, instead of showing it, they gave a double dose of some date reality show. That's what they did with Medicine Ball, advertising it as a comedy, like a "Young Doctors in Love" when in reality, it was something serious. That's what they did with Models, Inc., took it off for reported reorganization ...... and that's the last it was ever seen on FOX. Finally, remember this is midseason and FOX's reputation for carrying a midseason starting show past the end of the season is quite dismal. Sliders was midseason and they canceled it leaving us with Quinn being shot (outrage brought it back quite a bit later). LA FireFighters was a midseason starter and it didn't show up the next Fall. Treat the audience like trash long enough and they'll give up on one. The last straw with me was Wonderfalls. FOX ................... never again. ______________________________________________________________________ (Kryten is listing Rimmer's psychological failures. "Well. There's the fact that you were despised by your parents for failing to achieve their standards; the fact that your three brothers were all such high flyers in the Space Corps and you ended up servicing chicken soup machines; there's your inability to form long term relationships with anyone; your cowardliness; your lack of charm, honour, or grace; and the awful knowledge that throughout your entire life no one has truly liked you because you are so fundamentally unlikeable." "Oh,....... that!"--Rimmer "Please don't interrupt, sir. I'm only halfway through my list."--Kryten, (w,stte), Red Dwarf "Terrorform") |
| well, the premise of how the story continues even after T2 is very logical-- even though she killed Miles Dyson, someone picked up where he left off. The overarching theme is that you can't change the future, merely modify the circumstances. Like I said, I think the story of the show is well written, but the acting and dialog is horrible. |
+1 T3 had its moments...but in the end i was let down horribly. |
No. The story is so divergent from the plot established in the 3 films it's horrible. T3 established the fact that Judgement Day occurred sometime around 2003-2004, whereas in T2: SCC they time travel ALL THE WAY TO 2007 and everything is fine! The third movie also established the fact that the USAF took over the work of CyberDyne. I'm going to watch it for the lulz. I hope the T4 movie will be better than this shit. |
Yes, but their actions changed the future and prevented the outcome that was T3. Has anyone else wondered if the Terminators and people being sent back to our time are from our same timeline or do they inadvertently cause their own existence? There were a few differences between the first and second movie, and lots of differences between them and the third. It only seems logical that they are changing the future quite a bit each time they prevent the end. |
| Come on guys, give the show a break. Would you rather watch American Idol and Big Brother? The only thing I'll complain about is having Brian Austin Green playing Kyle Reeses brother. But yeah, hot chicks, guns, and robots. The only other thing I would ask for is some robot on human lovin. |
fuckin A, +1. I'm waiting for the terminatrix to strip off or get into some girl/girl action with Sarah. All you guys bitching about this sucks are probably also still arguing over how many original star trek episodes there are. |
|
If they needed to make a series out of it, it would have been much better on Fx or HBO. It could be truer (at least action/dialogue wise) to the movies. Trying to make a rated R action flick into a series on a major network during primetime means automatic watering down of everything. Still beats anything else out there now. |
pretty much I am still convinced FOX will pull the plug prematurely like Sliders ( which went to SCi-Fi and REALLY sucked) , Earth2 , Space Above and Beyond, Firefly etc etc etc Fox seems to hate if they have a sucessful sci fi show |
I will be the first guy to say the actress portraying Sarah Connor is on the very high end of the attractiveness scale. However, the Terminator girl is just plain goofy looking and I never understood the fascination ARFCOMmers have had for her, starting with her role in The Unit. Then again, this is ARFCOM. |
uh it is her eyes dude and her deadpan wit |
| C'mon, it's sci-fi. You have to have some suspension of disbelief. You want time paradox, how's this? If they manage to successfully thwart the creation of Skynet, all terminators will cease to exist. And so would John Connors and Sarah Connors life as it is, because, T1 would never have occurred. |
Exactly, so they could put the date back but not stop Skynet from existing. Anyway its science fiction. Who knows what kind of confusion could happen if time travel did exist, it might not even be possible. The show is better then I thought. It doesn't have a massive budget, or Linda Hamilton or Cameron. Of course its also a tv show not a movie. No waiting in line, no $8.50 charge plus having to drive to the movie theater. I like it. Who knows what Cameron would have produced if he had a limited budget and had to write enough script for a entire series. |
I think she's pretty hot. |
I agree. Here is a link to some VERY high res pics. Summer G.

From the previews, it looks like next week will have some flashbacks to the war in 2029.![]() There is some silliness, but I can't help but like the show. Should it have more of an edge to it? Absofuckinglutely. But I'm willing to stick with it and see where it goes. |
