| I have an ATT cell phone that I have on a contract. Its busted. Is it possible to buy one of their inexpensive pay as you go phones and put my ATT Sim card in it and it work? |
I have both, but never thought about doing that. After reading your post, I tried it out and swapped the SIM cards. It worked just fine. |
If you need it to work in a different comany's phone (e.g., T-Mobile), you need to call the other company and get the sim unlock code for the phone. Only possible if you're a current subscriber w/ the other company. You can also google "sim unlock"...you'll find a couple of free programs that supposedly can give you the unlock code, or a few codes to try, if you can supply the imei number of the phone (try *#06#); screen should show the imei. You'll also see a bazillion people who will get you the unlock code for $$. Entering a few incorrect unlock codes may result in your phone locking up completely, & no way to fix that. -hanko |
