I have a fixed 4x IOR scope.  I can't make it to the 100 and 150m range today, so I'm going to shoot at home.  The IOR has a BDC feature on the elevation knob, marked 1, 2, 3 and so on for 100m, 200m etc which will give POI=POA at those ranges on those settings.

Am I correct in thinking that if want to zero at my 25m range I'd simply zero with the BDC dial on 3 (300m mark)?  Or if I zero at 50m, I'd set the BDC dial on 2 (200m mark)?

I get a good 50 yd. zero on my AR, it will be 1 to 1 1/2 inches high at 100 yds. Dead on at 200yds.

Pretty much, but that only works if your IOR has the same HOB (Height over bore) that the open sights have.
