| what is everybodys experience with Netflix, or any other through the mail movie rental service? I have signed up for their free 2 week trial to see what it is like. Any opinions good or bad? |
| I know as soon as I scaled down from the 3 at a time to the 1 at a time plan my delivery went from 1 business day to 3-5. When I called to point out that fact they made some pretty lame excuses, until I presented them with the USPS delivery confirmation that proved they were holding out on me. I said screw'em after that. |
That is my experience as well. As homeschoolers we really like the 2 movie at a time deal. One is entertainment and one is always an educational title for the kids. |

I've been using the 3-at-a-time plan for several years now. I'm very pleased with the service, never any late fees, always easy to receive and return movies. Watching roughly twelve movies a month for less than $1.50 per. In the last year, I've had a few more bad DVDs than normal. It's inconvenient, but I just send it back and get another. You can google "throttling" and "Netflix" to read how they weed out unprofitable customers. |

Months ago the netflix changed their terms of service to penalize ppl that rented too many movies in a short period of time.. I think someone actually sued them because his 'unlimited' movie rentals were not unlimited because netflix restricted delivery to him.. For the record this guy was watching 1 to 2 movies per day, everyday.. Netflix quietly changed their TOS to limited how fast they sent out movies to high end users.. brian |

Had it for a couple of years now, no major problems yet. Out of a LOT of movies, less than half a dozen unwatchable, wrong, late, or lost upon the remail. Not bad at all. If you love movies and generally despise tv, its great. If you have people to share with, i.e. signifcant other, family, roommates, etc, with three movies at a time you can keep a good rotation going and everybody happy. The only thing I do not approve of is often the really hard to find stuff, if they do have it, is not always a great version. Especially asian flicks, often all they have is the shitty dubbed version. |
Didn't they get busted for this? I thought they stoped doing it after they got caught. |

They've always done good by me. Got a cracked disk the other day and they sent out a replacement that same day. A good tip is to always use the return envelope that has the closest address. This cuts down on how long it takes them to get a movie back. The closest distribution center is only a couple of miles away so they always get them back the next day... |
This isn't something I'd expect considering how cheap it is to replace a damaged DVD. |
I ran into Netflix apparently restricting my rentals. I tend to get it in the winter and watch a lot of movies in the winter months (I don't-or didn't) have cable. The movies would start to come slower and slower, I would get pissed and drop them, then the next fall I would get them again and the same thing, fast for awhile, then slowing down. I haven't had problems with damaged dvds and for a few years I was watching a lot of movies in the winter. I've had maybe 3 or 4 dvds that were problems. Sometimes they will work on one dvd player but not in a different one edit I don't use it much anymore so I don't know if they are still doing that. |
I had a few stolen, I probably reported a couple a year lost and it wasn't a big deal. |
They have no proof that the real Sniper Wolfe was behind the keyboard! |
Damn roommate! |
I hate when that happens. Vulcan94 |
