We have this older (late 60s) single gal who is one of the secretaries in the firm. She is obsessed with Morgan Woodward. She has pictures of him in her office and has gone to see his appearances at several western shows. Pretty funny.

I read the novel too.
For those who haven’t read it, time wise the story takes place on a Florida Chain Gang a little after World War II and before Korea.  My favorite scene in the movie is where they have to shovel sand onto a road that just had tar sprayed on it. In the novel the road detail lasts an entire work week.
