I love this song and it really is the base for my SHTF plans. I can do all these things. I have not technically made home made wine but I have a book on how to make moonshine. I also have some gardening experience and live on the ocean so I think my family will be okay and happy if anything really ever happens. |
| Yeah but you need preps, and an already fucntioning garden in order to make it out past a season. Once things start to happen expect there to be slim to none large game in the woods. I heard stories from family that it was impossible to find deer during the great depression. |
I really don't even consider land animals as a source of food in a SHTF situation. With my kayak and a cast net I can get a lot of fish. But I really don't believe things would ever get that bad |
I am not trying to argue with you, just discuss out options with you. You have to be able to weigh out what you think you would need to prep for. No one can convince you to do so otherwise. Some you may think are under prepared and others over prepared. Being able to cast a net and catch fish is great, but the problem with a kayak is that your catch is dependant on sea state and weather. I am sure you are probably a good kayaker, but in my line of work the most fatalities we usually deal with are overturned kayakers who got too tired and cold. Not to mention how open to potential maraurders or desperate people it makes you. |

I live in the Port Aransas south Texas area It is never very cold for more than a Day and the inner bay system is very well protected from bad seas. I do know what you mean, I have canned food, ammo, water, and a good attitude. |
Dunno about that... Where's the human meat thread? If we're like a cross between pork and chicken we might be damn tasty. |
