What I have for hunting:
    44 Mag Revolver
    30-30 Rifle
    30-06 Rifle
I'm looiking at a Marlin 45/70 Guide Gun and I like it! The question is: Do I need it? Does it fill a niche, or do I already have all I need?

I think that the guns that you have should do you fine.

A .45-70 would be nice for protection from bears, but your .44 will do in a pinch.

Oh dude, you're asking ARFCOM if you NEED another gun?

Seriously, you probably are covered pretty well already, but that gun is niiiice!

better yet, get a lever gun in 44mag. the added velocity from the longer barrel makes it much more powerful , and ammo compatability with the revolver will make a nice combo.

I don't think the guide gun makes a good long range rifle.  I shot my brothers and personally, I don't like it.  It is OK close up.  But I can't see taking 150+ yard shots with it.

Thanks for the lever action 44 mag advice, I like that too!
