I've never used them and do not have an account yet but it looks like I'll be needing one to get the one of a kind thing that I need.
My question is-- Do you have to pay through a checking account or can I pay the pay-pal people with a credit card?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Checking account. Keep in mind they are anti-gun as hell and making or receiving payments for firearms or related material violates their terms of service. They can put a hold on the money involved in the transaction that can last for a few months.

If you can find another way to transfer the funds.  I use paypal as an absolute last resort.

ether way you can use your c.c. to pay for stuff but if you want to sell you need to add you banking info so paypal  has a place to send it if you withdraw funds

Used credit card/via Pay Pal for an obvious recent gun purchase, with no problems.  The C.C. was a Citicard at that.

You can pay with a credit card.

You can also sell without putting in any of your bank info, but you will not be able to withdraw any of the money.  You would just build up a credit amount in paypal that you could spend on something.
