it's built like a tank.  it's like a Strider if Strider made switchblades.  I've got a picture of mine here somewhere if you haven't seen one.

I miss my Hubertus, I had this knife in non damascus. I lost it at a card game. It fell out of my pocket and dissapeared, not on  the table.

Do you want a 50's style switchblade from like a James Dean movie, or a modern automatic knife?

For the money....I really like these

I have an MOD that I rather like.  Nothing special or unusual, but a pretty darned tough, beefy design.  Not brutally expensive either.

Kershaw has some excellent assisted openers including the Spec Bump and Offset, that are really interesting looking.  They look to be brutal cutters. No button to push, but they deploy just as fast...perhaps faster, and are legal in most places as well.

I've got a few switchblades and can say without a doubt my Dalton's are the finest.
EDIT:  Just realized you might be making a distinction between switchblades and automatic knives.  In that case never mind.

I'm not generally a big fan of assisted openers. But Benchmades new Nitrous Stryker is very quickly becoming my favorite.

If money is no option go with a Mircotech knife, but benchmade makes some great switchblades.

Though it would be nice if IN dropped their stupid laws against them.

Severtechs are the shit. A2 blade steel and solid aluminum slabs (not panels). The only other one that comes close is the Desert Knifeworks Sandshark- I've had Microtechs, Daltons, Pro-techs etc, Severtech was still the best.

I would go with the Benchmade Infidel.  The OTF's fascinate me.

I have a Benchmade 9500.  When I purchase it I was working in a jail and they would not allow a blade over 3".  It has the Tanto point with serration.  It is a good little knife.

If your looking for a duty knife, look no further than a Boker ($26) or S&W ($40).

If you laugh, you haven't lost enough of them, to see where I'm coming from.

Your going to need creds for these.

Microtech Scarab Executive Tanto not serated. In my pocket everyday.
